BEAUTY | BARGAIN BEAUTY: JANUARY PICKS

During Blogmas, I started a series called Bargain Beauty (see previous posts here, here and here) and it was received pretty well so starting now, I’ll be making a monthly shopping trip to all the bargain shops to find more bargains!
Make-up shopping is one of those things that we all do but it can get very expensive. You go into Boots or Superdrug to buy deodorant or shower gel and come out with a highlighter, three lipsticks, make-up brushes and a new puppy (well, maybe not the latter but you get where I’m going!)! Setting a budget when going beauty shopping can sometimes be an impossible task because we are constantly bombarded with new products!

This month, I visited Bargain Buys and picked up a range of branded make-up so take a look:

Although we’re entering spring soon, black nail polish is always a staple in my life. However, adding some sparkle to it makes it extra special. I’ve never actually used Maybelline nail polish before but for just £1, I couldn’t resist the Nearly Black shade!

Unfortunately, I used this next shade once and then got rid of it. I usually love Rimmel’s nail varnish but Queen of Bling was not one of them. As soon as I applied it, it took forever to dry and then smudged within 30 minutes. However, it came in a set with the polish shown underneath. 2 for £1? I just can’t resist a bargain!

I have yet to try the Bedazzle shade but I let my mum give it a trial run and she had a similar experience as I did with the gold one. Maybe myself and glitter just aren’t meant to be?!

This is probably the best bargain that I got. This Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick in Persistantly Pink retails at £6.99 and I only paid £1! It’s a vivid pink which isn’t a shade that I’d usually go for but who am I to say no at that price?

My final buy was the Max Factor Max Effect Gloss Cube in Vibrant Raspberry. I believe that these glosses are now discontinued but seeing as their lipglosses are around £8/9 usually, I think it was worth it. This pink is deeper than the lipstick previous and also has a hint of sparkle in there!

Have any of you started looking in bargain shops for beauty buys? If you’re in Hull, I can show you all of my tricks!
