BEAUTY | BOOTS SALE PICKS #1
It’s the most wonderful time of the year; I love January. Sales time, Christmas chocolate can be bought at dirt cheap prices and it’s my birthday (thanks for all the tweets everyone!) so it’s probably my favourite month of the year.
Despite having a no-spend January which has actually been going pretty well, I thought I’d treat myself to some beauty gift sets seeing as I work opposite a Boots store! In total, I spent less than £20 for all three which I think is a real bargain! Here’s a closer look at what I bought:
Not that I need anymore nail polishes but I couldn’t resist these! I’ve actually never bought an Essie nail varnish before. I’ve always found that cheaper brands do nail polish just as good as the expensive brands. However, since getting a Nails Inc polish with Glamour magazine a couple of months ago, I’m going to try some new brands this year.
Even if you don’t have many nail polishes, these three are perfect staples. I always say you need a good pale pink and deep red in your collection and a dark colour. I tend to stay clear of black because it is a bugger to get off so navy is the perfect alternative!
These lip glosses were bought on a whim and I’m not entirely sure how often I’ll use them all yet! I loved the array of colours in the set; plenty of pink, red and orange. I thought I love their concealer and nail polish so why not try their lipglosses?
These pots are pretty tiny but I think they’re a great handbag size. They’re thin tubes too so you could carry all six around with you and change up your look during the day!
I’d seen the choice of Jack Wills beauty gift sets in the Boots Christmas catalogue and had my eye on a few that I’d consider in the sale. Unfortunately, I only found this one. I had to go to the men’s section upstairs to find it on the end of a shelf but I’m glad I did because I love them already!
So far I’ve used the darkest three shades and the pigmentation is amazing for a non-beauty brand! The red is my favourite by far though as I assumed it would be sheer but it’s not! I love lip crayons for work as I find them easier to re-apply throughout the day than lipstick.
