Dupes, however you may feel about them, are everywhere. Be it in high street shops taking inspiration from the catwalk or down the make-up aisles where budget brands are making a cheaper version of high-end beauty products.

Similar packaging and shades means it’s even harder than ever before to differentiate between the cheaper and more expensive brands, apart from one thing: price.

Don’t get me wrong, I have always been a firm believer in quality over quantity. If I could fill my make-up collection with all high-end, cruelty-free products, I would. However, I’m a ridiculously poor student and this means that price will come before anything else for the time being. Lipsticks are the one product that I’ve really never paid much for. I tend to think all the shades are very similar and the texture always seems the same too!

When I cam across the Make-Up Revolution Renaissance lipsticks, the first thing that caught my eye was the packaging. The ridged-style casing has been around for decades so to me, this line of lipsticks feel more elegant and luxurious. It’s a lot heavier than I expected it to be aswell.

I decided to go for three colours that I thought I’d get the most use out of: a classic red, a pinky red and a pinky nude, three shades that I wear on a regular basis!

The formula is so creamy so it doesn’t dry out your lips and for the price, they really are quite pigmented! I know these shades suit me so already, I’ve been wearing them cosntantly.
