I should’ve written this post about a month ago but life happens, right? Sitting down to write this and going through it doesn’t feel like I’ve accomplished a great deal. However, when I set my monthly goals for myself, I make more progress on those! Big goals are just scary I guess and not always easy to achieve in one go. Let’s have a look at my 21 goals in 2021 progress report.
BLOG
- Blog consistently – I tried and failed. Then tried and failed again. However, in the second half of 2020, I’m aiming for two blog posts a week. So far, so good!
- Write an eBook – I do have one in the early stages but it’s geared more towards my new blog’s niche. Hopefully, once that blog is all set up, I’ll be able to finish it!
- Work with 6 brands on paid opps – When you don’t blog consistently, you don’t get opportunities. In all fairness, I haven’t exactly been seeking out paid work for my blog anyway.
- Set up a newsletter – Another fail but then again, I’ve been concentrating more on my business this year as that makes the money!
- Update old posts with photos/SEO – I created a spreadsheet and started this but it’s such a mammoth task! I’m now just going to take it month at a time, set myself a target and go from there.
- Design media kit – Again, because blogging has taken a backseat in 2021 so far, this is something I’ve also put off doing.
- Up my Pinterest / Instagram game – Whilst I’ve all but given up on Instagram, I have set up Tailwind for my blog and used it to promote my theatre posts. However, it takes a lot of time to manage it so I’d love to outsource it when my business is scaling!
BUSINESS
- Do 2020/21 tax return early – I completed this on the very first week of the 21/22 tax year but have still yet to pay my bill. They can wait until the last minute this time!
- Write an eBook – I’ve too many ideas currently so I have no idea which one to pick! I’m sure I’ll whittle it down at some point.
- Blog once a week – Whilst it’s not been a weekly occurence, I have been fairly consistent. I took July off creating content for the most part but will be back to blogging every week from August onwards.
- Set up a newsletter – COMPLETED! Finally, I have set up my business newsletter! It features lot of content/blogging.organisation tips and tricks as well as some personal tidbits thrown in. If you want to sign up, you can use this link right here!
- Be more present in memberships – I’m in around five memberships and turn up in all but one for the most part. There are just so many calls and so much content to consume that it can be overwhelming. I’ll be getting rid of at least one soon as it’s my least used membership so far.
MONEY
- Save £10k through savings challenges – Whilst I’m not on track with this right now, I’ve been putting away £200 a month into my Help2Buy ISA, which is the most important to me.
- Complete a no-spend year – I’ve been through such phases with spending and saving this year. If I have a good month, I haven’t been saving as much as I should and have spent it instead.
- Do a #21in2021 clothes challenge – I’m way off this (currently on 67 new items in 2021); however, in April, I discovered Depop and Vinted so have bought 25 second-hand items this year as well as 13 from small biz owners. I’ve been spending much less on clothes since May but did discover I have zero summer clothing!
PERSONAL
- Read 120 books – Currently, I’ve read 60 in 2021 as I’ve been rubbish at reading throughout July and August. Guess I have to up my game in the autumn!
- Bake once a week – Again, I’ve not baked every single week but I have baked way more than ever before. I made afternoon for myself, my parents and my auntie as a delayed Mother’s Day treat and made everything myself.
- Maintain a regular fitness routine – This has been an unachieveable goal since January so I’ve tried to ease myself back into it in August, with just one workout a week!
- Visit 10 new places in the UK – Thanks to Covid, I’ve yet to leave Hull in 2021 so far. However, I have a trip to the Peak District booked for September as well as a day in Sheffield and an overnight stay to London. I’m hoping to head over Manchester for a few days later in the year too, just for the change of scenery!
- Journal daily – Whilst this is another goal I’ve not done daily, I’ve tried to journal every morning and night. I’ve probably done it around three times a week so far this year, which is more than ever before!
- Use up 50 empties (Project Pan) – Currently, I’m at 26 items but with trips booked in and a lot of my current make-up stash nearing its end, I’m sure this figure will rise significantly in the last 4 months of the year!
My 21 goals in 2021 progress is better than I thought! Until you sit down and review your goals, you never think you’ve achieved anything. It’s only then that you actually see how much you’ve accomplished!
