Well, Autumn is well and truly here, isn’t it? I love this time of year because I have an excuse to wear lots of layers, seeing as I’m a natural cold arse all year round. I’ve been digging out my favourite boots and jumpers/sweatshirts as summer is long gone to me! October looks set to be an exciting month for me, with a trip to London, the odd day out and lots of work and blogging to be doing. Before I jump into my 10 goals for October 2021, let’s have a quick look back at September first.
SEPTEMBER REVIEW
Take my holiday off work + blogging
Success! I took my laptop with me and barely even used it, as well as social media. It was so nice to just relax, read and tune out of the world!
Set up my Q4 plan
Another success! I’ve tried to turn these goals into intentions as they’re more about how I want to feel. Q4 will be quieter in terms of business with no launches, just cracking on with client work.
Schedule CBS content for September + October
After taking one week of social media, I took another, which led into the entire month of September. I have to say that it was really refreshing. It’s also made me realise that I do spend too much time on Instagram!
Write 30 blog posts in 30 days
I started off the month strongly but taking time off means it can be a struggle to get back into the swing of things. That was me for the entire month.
Complete onboarding course
Another failure because I took that time off!
Complete Dubsado course
Never mind, there’s always 2022.
Stick to new working routine
After two weeks off, I’ve decided to trial finishing my working day at 3pm for a few weeks. I’m usually dozing off by that time so it will be nice to do somehing fun with that time instead!
Low-spend month
Unfortunately, with day trips and a holiday, September was a bit spendy. I also bought quite a bit of clothing this month to prepare for my autumn wardrobe too. Oops!
Find a new exercise routine
Let’s leave that for another month.
Read 10 books
Definite no, meaning I’m way behind on my goal for the year!
SEPTEMBER STATS
10 – Number of TV series watched
2 – Number of theatre trips (reviews coming soon)
7 – Number of empties
£210 – Money saved
1 – Books read
215 – Number of pages read
OCTOBER GOALS
Whilst September was pretty chilled, October is set to be a bit busier. I want to end 2021 with a bang in all aspects of my life so let’s take a closer look at my 10 goals for October 2021.
Read 13 books
As you saw above, I’m really far behind on my goal of 100 for the year so I have to get back on track. Q4 is all about self-care for me and reading is a massive part of that. I’ll be spending my evenings and weekends reading as much as I can!
Write 31 blog posts in 31 days
Another goal that I’ve kept for October is daily blogging. Whilst I won’t be posting daily, I want to have a bank of posts ready for November too. My friend Sarah-Lou and I are trying to keep each other accountable too!
No-spend month
With just a weekend away in London mid-month, I’m determined to rein in my spending this month. I’m still saving for a house and I want to get there before I’m like 50. I want to save an extra £4000 between now and April for a LISA.
Limit spending on London trip
Obviously, I’ll be spending some money in London but with my hotel, train tickets and theatre tickets (I’m seeing The Last Five Years and Six) already paid for, it’ll just be Tube fares and eating out. I’ll be packing up for the journey there and taking a few snacks to save some pennies!
Create and follow a fitness plan
I will get on this fitness curve at some point this year! I think I’ll start with using the workouts I’ve already paid for and start dancing as much as I can and stretching daily again.
Take a weekday off every week
This is a biggie for me in Q4. Starting my own business was meant to be flexible so by booking a day off every week, I’m hoping it makes me more productive for the four other workdays. Fingers crossed it works!
Get all clothes on eBay
I still have a wardrobe full of clothing that I no longer want. October is the month that I upload as much as I can. This weekend, I have cheap fees on eBay so I’ll be getting as many items on there as possible!
Schedule CBS + TEE content for the month
Now I’m back to business as usual, I need to schedule some content. This means weekly blog posts and newsletters again as well as five IG feed posts a week for my business. I also want to get back into Instagram for this blog but I want to just post when I feel like it. It’ll be more like IG was in the beginning with just photos of random things instead of curated.
Keep up-to-date with US TV shows
Autumn (or fall in the US) has the best TV with all of my favourites returning. We’re talking the Chicago shows, Grey’s Anatomy, SVU, FBI, The Rookie and my old fave Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. I’m not forgetting my other UK fave Strictly or Bake Off though!
Continue writing eBook
I’ve been working on this eBook for some time now but have neglected it over the summer. Now is the perfect time to get back into it with the hope of launching in early 2022!
And there you have it, my 10 goals for October 2021 is complete! Let’s hope I have more success this month than I did in September. To keep up with everything The English Everygirl, you can find me on Twitter and Instagram daily!
