Spring has sprung and May is just around the corner. I’m excited because May is looking like a super fun month for me, with lots of theatre trips and some much-needed time off. Before May starts, here’s my April 2025 in review.
THREE THEATRE TRIPS
It’s not been as busy as some theatre bloggers but three is more than many! I attended both Dear Evan Hansen and Ghost the Musical press nights at my local theatre. Also, I went on a day trip to Sheffield to see Northern Ballet’s Jane Eyre, which was a beautiful production. In fact, they have another four ballets going out on tour in 25/26 and I want to see them all!
SIX THE MUSICAL AT THE CINEMA
If you know me, you’ll know that Six is one of my all-time favourite musicals. As soon as they announced it was going to be in cinemas, I booked a ticket. It was so surreal to see the journey of the show, especially as the first time I saw it, it was in the Arts Theatre in London. I loved seeing the OG cast in the production and it was so well produced.
ARSENAL WOMEN IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
This is probably the highlight of my entire month because I didn’t think it was possible! My team played the second leg so well and I was ecstatic to get through to the final. I wish I could afford to go to the final in Lisbon but instead, I’ll be watching at home. It’s going to be a massive task but I have to have hope in them!
A QUIET EASTER
Easter is probably my favourite holiday but I was working for most of it this year. It’s my favourite because I love the long weekend. Also, Easter chocolate is better than Christmas chocolate, fact. I spent the Saturday in Leeds shopping and worked the Friday and Monday. Next year, I’m having the time off because I need a break!
75 SOFT FAILURE
I started 75 Soft and failed. For some reason, I’ve tried this challenge three times in 2025 and have barely seen out the first two weeks. I thought it would be an easy challenge as it’s only the workouts that I need to add into my routine. However, it was just a lot in one go and 75 days is such a long time.
BEING IN A SLUMP
This follows on from my previous point. 2025 has been a massive slump for me. I’m doing enough to get by but I’m not exactly thriving. That’s why I’m starting a ’31 days of wellness’ challenge in May (look out for my blog post tomorrow), basically one month to improve my health and wellbeing. I’m hoping that 31 days is less overwhelming than 75 days of commitment. May is a busy month for me so I should be able to get my daily step count up, especially whilst balancing my business, blogs and personal life.
And that’s my April 2025 in review. It was a pretty quiet month but I’m happy for that. As I said above, May is looking pretty busy so I’m glad I had some time to breathe in April! May is all about focus so I’m spending today getting prepared for that.
