Staying in is still the new going out, right? At the moment, I’m doing a lot more overtime at work so the last thing I want to do after a long day is go out. Being at home and in bed is literally heaven.

I’ve always been a bit of a homebody. As much as I love my friends, I’m so used to being on my own as an only child. Guys, I am literally the best company! Joking aside, having a quiet night in at home is much needed for my wellbeing.

I’ve been all go for a while now so it’s so important to wind down sometimes and take some time for yourself. When at home, there’s a few activities I love to do:

Binge-watching TV

I won’t lie: I watch a lot of box sets. Don’t get me wrong, I love films but there’s something about sinking your teeth into a TV series and getting really invested in the characters! I like to watch several episodes in one go rather than one episode a week. Currently I’m watching Chicago Med on box set, PLL and Riverdale on Netflix and Chicago Justice on TV. Maybe I should start a new blog series about all of the TV that I’ve been tuning into!

Reading and taking notes

I love to read, I have done since I was young. Unfortunately, I don’t get as much time to read as I used to but my latest thing is reading non-fiction books and taking notes from them. I’ll pretty much read anything about organisation, de-cluttering, home improvement, fashion, make-up and fitness. I have several notebooks, one for each topic, full of notes taken from different books and tonnes of tips and tricks.

Currently I’m re-reading the Harry Potter series before bed; so far I’m up to the Chamber of Secrets!

Planning my day/week/month

Staying organised is the only way that I stay sane. I need to know where I’m going to be and what I’m going to be doing most of the time. I try to spend some time on Sunday nights planning out the following week; it is actually soothing to me to know exactly what my plans are and what I can fit around them!

Doing nothing

There are some nights where I just like to chill out on the sofa and have a family night. We tend to have hot drinks, lots of snacks and stick in a movie or watch sport/quiz shows. As an only child, spending quality time with my parents has become sparse now I’m older. I might still live at home but I’m not often in the house!

I will always choose a night in over a night out. Being a non-drinker, my idea of a night out is going for food or a coffee or visiting the theatre or cinema. I’m lucky that my closest friends are similar so we tend to go out for food more than anything!
