PROJECT PAN 2019: SPRING EMPTIES

PROJECT PAN 2019: SPRING EMPTIES

We’re halfway through the year which means it’s time for another empties post! Spring (April-June) looked like a good one for me in terms of my Project Pan experiment. I also came across a few mini products from various Christmas collections so I added them to my spring empties pile!

In my first installment, I managed to use up 13 products. This time around, I’ve smashed that with 20 spring empties, 7 of which came in my trip to Chester mid-May. I still want to continue to use even more. Let’s see if I can top my spring empties number during the summer! Here’s a look at which products I’ve been using up.

April

Noughty Detox Dynamo Clarifying Shampoo: Compared to other Noughty products, this one was the most disappointing for me. After being loyal to Pantene for years, I switched to this one because it’s CF. However, it felt like you needed tonnes of the product for it to actually do anything. I only got a few uses out of it because I was using so much product!

Repurchase? No.

L’Oreal Elvive 60 Second Saviour Hair Treatment: They seem to have changed the bottle and discontinued this product altogether. If only L’Oreal were CF because I would’ve stocked up on this hair mask. You apply it inbetween shampoo and conditioner and it makes your hair look silky soft and smells gorgeous.

Repurchase? Nope, not now I’m cruelty-free!

Simple Kind to Skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask: My favourite face mask but I am using up any non-CF products as quickly as I can. It really does leave your skin feeling smooth but I’d much rather find a new one from a brand that doesn’t test on animals!

Repurchase? No, Simple aren’t a cruelty-free brand!

Superdrug Seduce Body Spray: This is the only body spray I ever use! I should try other ones from the range but this scent is just the one for me!

Repurchase? Definitely!

Superdrug Pro Care Sensitive Whitening Toothpaste: I’ve been using this toothpaste for a couple of years now and still love it. I struggled to find a mild, sensitive toothpaste that was cruelty-free so thank God for Superdrug’s own brand! I have the electric toothbrush from the range too and together, they are fab!

Repurchase? Definitely, when I’ve ran out of tubes.

Superdrug Simply Pure Micellar Water: The Simply Pure range is one of my favourites when it comes to skincare. I love this micellar water but I’ve recently tried another brand that seems better value for money. I love this one but the bottle is just too tiny considering I go through one a month!

Repurchase? Yes but I’m trying others first.

Noughty Care Taker Shampoo: Finding affordable CF haircare has been particularly difficult. Most brands I’ve found are around £20 a bottle which is nowhere in my budget. After some research, I found Noughty and haven’t looked back since! This was definitely light enough for my fine hair!

Repurchase? Yes, when I’ve got through my haircare collection.

Noughty Care Taker Conditioner: The companion to the shampoo is just as good. It’s clear, which is hard to find for a conditioner. This is great for me because my hair can get super greasy very quickly nowadays.

Repurchase? Yes, when I need to stock up.

Simply Pure Calming Cleanser: I stocked up on this range because it’s constantly out of stock in my local Superdrugs! These bottles last for quite a while so I don’t go through them quite as often as micellar water!

Repurchase? Yes, when I need some!

Simply Pure Refreshing Toner: Again, the toner in this range is just as good as the rest of the products. It doesn’t have a weird smell to it like many toners I’ve tried before and the bottle lasts for ages.

Repurchase? Yes, when I need more.

No7 Beautiful Skin Micellar Cleansing Water (mini): I found a hidden stash of minis in a suitcase in the loft, none of which had ever been used! This micellar water was not the best though, it had an odd, almost chemical smell to it. Just not to my taste.

Repurchase? No

May trip to Chester

7 empties in one trip? Go me!

Mitchum Women Unscented 48hr Roll-On Deodrant: Like shower gel, I’m very particular about what deodrant I can use because of my eczema. These are the only two products I struggle with being cruelty-free with too. Mitchum are a grey-area brand but that will have to do for me.

Repurchase? Yes.

Superdrug Seduce Body Spray: I used another body spray up. Maybe I’m using too much of it?!

Repurchase? Yes.

Superdrug Cleansing Facial Wipes: I know they’re bad for your skin but I hate wasting products so I’m trying to get rid of them, only using them when I’ve had a full face of make-up on!

Repurchase? No.

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Powder (unavailable): For some reason, this is a bugger to find online! Many high-street stores still stock it which I’m thrilled about because it lasts me ages to get through one pot!

Repurchase? Definitely.

Essence Cover Stick in 04 True Nude (unavailable): I don’t use a stick concealer often, only when I have really bad spots. I use it as more of a spot primer before applying foundation/liquid concealer for extra coverage. I’m not particularly fussy about which brand it is, as long as it’s cruelty-free of course!

Repurchase? Yes

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Cool Medium 2: My fave concealer. I have tried so many other options but always go back to this one. I tend to use Cool Medium during spring/summer as my face gets a little more colour to it and switch back to the lightest shade during winter.

Repurchase? Yes, I always stock up when I can find it!

Nyx HD High Definition Eyeshadow Base: Again, I’ve never found a decent rival for this! Even Urban Decay doesn’t match up for me. As soon as I start a new tube, I always buy myself another because again, my local Boots/Superdrug always seem to run out of my holy grail products!

Repurchase? Yes.

June

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (mini): Another mini I found, which I do miss dearly. I swore by this micellar water before going cruelty free and I still think it’s the best one out there. Hurry up Garnier and stop testing on animals!

Repurchase? No.

Asda Protect Cream Dry Skin Intensive Moisturiser (unavailable): Another month, same moisturiser. Oh I don’t know what I’ll do when I’ve ran out of this stuff!

Repurchase? I wish I could!
