I’m back with my most popular monthly posts in 2025 and better still, I actually enjoy writing them. Here are my 10 goals for January 2025 across all categories.
JANUARY PLANS
- Multiple cinema visits after signing back up to Odeon Limitless
- Nail appointments – 8th/30th
- My 32nd birthday – 14th
- Little Shop of Horrors Sheffield trip (overnight) + a trip to Meadowhall- 17th-18th
- WSL returns – 17th
- Hamilton Bradford trip – 29th
Because it’s my birthday month, I often spend a little more than planned to start the year off. However, compared to previous years, this is a quieter birthday month for me! I’m excited to get out of Hull a couple of times for theatre trips and I’m sure I’ll enjoy my shopping day in Meadowhall after my birthday!
10 GOALS FOR JANUARY 2025
Read 8 books
Two books a week seems doable, especially at the start of the year. I always start off strong, fizzle out as the year goes on and pick it up in Q4. As well as a tonne of books on my Kindle and physical shelves, I might nip to my local library to see if they have anything new.
Start month 1 of 75 Soft
If you’ve ever been on TikTok or any social media platform, you’ll have seen a bunch of people doing the 75 Hard challenge. However, there’s a newer version called 75 Soft (or even 75 Medium) where you apply similar rules but it’s not quite as strict. You can basically apply the rules as you see fit and how they fit your lifestyle. It’s about challenging yourself but also progress. The plan is to start on the 6th, provided that I get rid of this Christmas/NY lurgy by then!
Try a new recipe
If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while, you’ll know I mostly cook Asian cuisine. However, I want to push myself and try something new. I’ve found a recipe for a one-pot Mexican chicken and rice dish so I might give that a try. I’m not a massive experimenter so it’s baby steps.
Stick to January monthly budget + rules
January is a sticky month for budgeting for me because it’s my birthday and I usually go on a little trip somewhere. However, I’m going to be having a sort of no-buy year so want to start off strong. I’m in the process of making my rules as I want to have some guidelines. I mostly want to stick to my monthly 20-ish no-spend days and just save more money!
Pay tax bill
I mean it’s a necessity to achieve this goal as the deadline is 31st January! For the past couple of years, I’ve filed my taxes straight away in April but waited until January to pay. HMRC can wait as long as possible for my money.
Save 20% of every invoice
Whilst I usually save for my tax bill frequently, I slacked off in 2024. I want to be more conscious of my business finances in 2025 so having a tax savings pot is a very good idea! 20% is a good starting point and I’m sure it will be more than enough after a few months.
Research coworking spaces
If I want to take my business to the next level, a coworking space is a good idea. I love my home office but sometimes, it feels a little restrictive. As much as I love working from a coffee shop, doing that weekly isn’t always cost-effective. I just want to do some research into local coworking spaces to compare costs and features.
Set up + stick to business content schedule
January is a great month to reset your business content so I’m making the most of it. However, whilst it’s all well and good to have a schedule, you also need to stick to it and post your ideas! That means I’m having a content planning day today!
Post 31 blog posts
If you read my annual goals post the other day, you’ll know that I’m aiming to publish 365 blog posts in 365 days! Getting through the first month will be the first hurdle! I’ve onlyy got 5 posts written up so I need to push on. Here’s to a successful first month.
Have a dedicated blog day every week
In order to achieve the above goal, I’m planning on using Wednesday as my blogging day every week. If it’s not a Wednesday. Fridays are a good option to have a more fun end to the week. I’m not sure I’ll get a full seven posts written in one day so I’ll also use the odd weekday night to write. Blogging is fun to me but it’s still hard work!
That’s everything for my 10 goals for January 2025 blog post. Next month, I’ll go back to including my stats but I wanted to start afresh for 2025 so didn’t include December’s.
