Anyone else ready for a bit of a refresh? I’ve decided to use June as the start of my six-month year. I know it’s not quite the halfway point of the year, but let’s face it, December is not the month to make things happen. That’s when I start my planning for the following year! June is the start of ‘making shit happen’, but I also don’t want to drain myself either! Let’s recap my May goals first before getting into my 10 goals for June 2026.
MAY GOALS RECAP
Read 6 books
DONE! I’ve smashed this goal by reading 10 books in May. Despite not reading anything mid-month, thanks to my Off Campus binges, I’m thrilled that I got through so many books. Most of them were Elle Kennedy books, as I wanted to get through as many as I could this month. I also read another couple of sports romance books by E.L. Moran and Chelsea Curto. I fear that it’s become my new favourite genre.
Save £600
So technically it’s a fail, but I used £300 to pay towards one of my credit cards. If I’d have saved that money instead, I’d have saved £850 total! In reality, I’m only £50 off my aim.
Get back into daily journaling
Fail. I don’t think I journaled even once in May. I’ll try again in June instead.
Declutter the spare bedroom
I mean, I’ve started it, so does that count? Firstly, I managed to declutter some books and traded a bunch of them in. I also managed to organise some of my grandma’s paperwork, so I’m up-to-date with that. However, I’ve still got a way to go. I’ve got so much stuff to sell, but zero energy to do it!
Start working out again regularly
Fail. I didn’t work out once. However, I’ve been getting my steps in most days, so there’s a silver lining, I guess!
Stick to TEE blog schedule
Another fail. I only managed to post half of what I wanted to do. Apparently, two times a week was too much this month. In my defense, I worked a few extra shifts, and was exhausted when I got home!
Cut back on snacking + figure out my unhealthy eating habits
Done, sort of. I’ve definitely cut back on snacking when I’m at home, but when you work in a TGJones, there’s always free snacks in the staffroom! I have zero willpower to say no to them! I’ve got into a routine of meal planning properly on a Sunday, and have stuck to it for the most part.
Aim for 15 no-spend days
Fail. I only made 11 no-spend days in May, which is still a third of the month. However, if I want to keep saving, I need to spend less, and organise my spending days much better.
Get back into Project Panning my toiletries
Done. I bought a bunch of stuff at the start of the month, as I need some heat protection spray, azelaic acid and hand cream (not £40 worth, mind). However, I’ve not bought anything since then. I’m hoping to go cold turkey in June, as I think I have a back-up for every item I could possibly need!
Reduce email newsletters folder to less than 4000
In all honesty, I just didn’t have time to do this, and it wasn’t a high priority for me.
10 GOALS FOR JUNE 2026
Read 8 books
I don’t want to aim too high, just in case I lose the reading bug. However, two books per week seems manageable if I can continue reading on my commutes and before bed.
Prep for summer capsule wardrobe
I need to do an overhaul of my wardrobe again, and summer is my least favourite season to dress for. Simply put, I don’t cope well in heat, so my capsule will be filled with loungewear to stay at home in! However, there are a few pieces that I’d like to add when I get the chance.
Plan out my Q3 personal curriculum
I feel like my brain is starting to rot (all the hockey romance books don’t help), and I need to start learning something again. When I started this earlier in the year, I was focused on learning more about skincare and haircare. I also started looking up topics that I call ‘quiz show necessities’, such as US presidents through time and UK prime ministers. Maybe I’ll go back to studying my favourite topic growing up: countries’ flags from around the world!
Batch cook on days off
At my part-time job, I typically work 3-4 days a week, usually 9-5. However, I’m up at 6.15am, out at 7.10am, and not back home until around 6.30pm. When I get home, I typically just eat toast or instant chicken noodles. Whilst both are staples of my diet, they’re not exactly nutritious! That’s why I want to make the most of my days off by cooking when I have the time and cooking an extra portion or two. I tend to stick with stir frys, as they’re the easiest way for me to get more veg into my diet!
Stick to hair washing routine
With all that studying into haircare that I did earlier in the year, I’ve become very particular about my hair washing routine. In fact, I’ve planned out each wash in typical Type A fashion. It boils down to three hair washes a week, with various products used in/after every wash, and some just once a week. If I don’t plan it, I’d just use a generic shampoo and dry it!
Go back to weekly paper planning
Whilst I’ve definitely transitioned to digital planning much more, I do still enjoy writing things down. This is a task I’ll most likely do on a Sunday night before winding down for bed. Once I’ve jotted down anything that is a necessity (work shifts, appointments, travel/theatre, sports events), I can then plan my content and general to-do’s around that. However, I need to get out of the mindset of perfect planning, because plans can change, and they often do!
Save £700
I’m really getting into this savings malarky, because I want my own place. Even though I feel like I’m spending lots, I’m also managing to save a lot, which means I can’t be spending as much as I think! I want to save more this month as I’m getting some back pay since I changed my contract at work. Ideally, I want to put that money directly into my house fund and possibly even more!
Aim for 15 no-spend days
Despite being under budget during May, I felt like I spent money most days. In June, I want to fix that by getting back into planning my spending days. It also means not going to M&S so much for snacks when I’m at work, and buying fewer books! Although it’s half of the month, I’ll try to be good on my days off at home and not make many online purchases.
Make a start on decluttering the spare bedroom
I’m determined to make some headway in June with this goal. In fact, I’m dedicating Thursday to clearing some stuff out. The main categories of focus are books, stationery, and old clothing. I really need to get some stuff uploaded to Vinted, or else everything will go to charity.
Figure out how to balance everything
This is a very vague goal, but with a part-time job, a blog, a business, hobbies and sleep, I’m struggling to balance everything right now. In fact, my part-time job and sleep have been my priorities, and everything else has taken a backseat. My blog uploads are inconsistent, my hobbies are simply reading and watching TV, and I won’t even talk about my business (or lack of). My energy levels are completely zapped, and I need to fix it. I’m going to take June as my month to figure some things out and see what happens.
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for June 2026. It’s a month all about focus for me, as I work out a few things personally. It’s the middle of the year, so it’s the perfect time to hit reset.
