Finally, we’re heading towards my favourite season: autumn! I know I shouldn’t wish away summer, but I’m not made for this heat. I like hot chocolates, sweatshirts and cosying at home with a good book or box set. I’m ready to lock the f in. With that being said, here are my 10 goals for September 2026.
10 GOALS FOR SEPTEMBER 2026
Read 8 books
I managed it in August, so I’m hoping to repeat this goal in September. I’m working a few extra shifts, giving me more commutes and breaks to read on. I also want to read for at least half an hour every night before bed. Here’s to hoping I can get through more than eight books in the month!
Complete month one of the winter arc challenge
Officially on social media, this challenge doesn’t start until 1st October. However, who wants to spend all of Christmas and New Year in workout mode? Certainly not me! Instead, I’m hoping to use September as the month to refocus on my routines and set the foundation to lock in during October and November. I’ll also use three weeks in December to work on it. The two weeks around Christmas and New Year is my time to chill out!
Workout three times a week
One of the main reasons that I want to do a winter arc is because I want to get back into working out consistently. Back in the day, I’d work out before work at 6am for half an hour. Now we have to be out of the house earlier, I don’t have enough time in the morning. There’s no way I can become a 5am riser, so I’ll be working out after work at home or on my work from home days. Three times a week seems manageable to begin with, though.
Declutter autumn/winter clothes
This was a goal on my list for August, but I didn’t have the energy to do it! Instead, I’m carrying it forward because I’ll be setting up my autumn capsule wardrobe before the end of the month too. I’d love to reduce my wardrobe massively, but that’s not realistic for me. The idea is to declutter as much as I can and then upload all of my unwanted stuff onto Vinted. I’ve already got bags of stuff to get on there, so I need to get it done in September!
Continue to eat more protein
I’m happy with my protein intake throughout August, so I want to continue that into September. I’ve been having a protein shake on all of my days off, as well as buying some My Protein ones to have at work. On work days, I have zero energy to cook when I get home. The plan is to meal prep an extra portion on my days off, which allows me to eat more protein. It’s all about planning and prepping!
Work out new beauty routines
Another goal of mine is to make use of all of my skincare/beauty products. I have a large collection of products, from face masks to retinol, and need to get back into a routine of which products I want to use. Initially, I set up a routine of using certain products on certain nights, but I’ve gotten a little lazy with it. I think I need to write them up so I can visually see what products to use each day/night!
Journal my thoughts every night
This is a task I want to do before bed as a way to chill out before bed. One journal is just to jot down three things that made me happy that day. The other one is more long-form. However, I want to make it goal-focused. I want to write down any progress made towards my ‘life buckets’, basically the categories that I want to improve in. These are blog, business, health/fitness, hobbies, finances, and self-care. The aim is to move the needle in each category most days. Sometimes, I only make progress in one category, but it’s better than nothing. We’re looking for improvement, not major change daily!
No phone before completing morning routine
I think this is the one habit that I’m desperate to work on, because I’m sick of being so attached to my phone! It’s the first thing I grab in the morning, and I really don’t need to be doing so. On a work day, I want to give myself an hour to get ready when I really don’t need to look at my phone. When I have a day off, I need to recognise that nothing is that urgent that it can’t wait half an hour or so. Why can’t I get dressed, do my skincare, brush my teeth, stretch and make myself a hot chocolate first? It’s a tough habit to break, and I’m not expecting perfection, but I want to do it more often than not.
Make better use of my days off
This is vague for a reason, but I’ve been suffering from burnout these last few weeks despite doing less than ever. I don’t know if it’s because I want to do all of the things and end up doing none of them, or if I’m just lazy. However, it’s meant that my days off have just been sat on the sofa watching TV (currently rewatching Dance Moms). Whilst this is okay on occasion, it’s not exactly improving my life very much. My days off need to be structured and focused, ideally one day a week for my blog and one for my business. It’ll probably change from week to week, but I don’t want to be too rigid either.
Restart my side hustles journey
Another goal of mine is to make more money (I think it always will be). One way of doing that is side hustling. Previously, I’ve done online surveys, got cashback, and sold old clothing to make some extra cash. September is the month to restart all of these once again, especially on my days off. I’ll be keeping a tab open for Prolific and uploading stuff to Vinted whenever I can! That extra cash is going into my ‘moving out’ fund!
And that’s everything for my 10 goals for September 2026 blog post. I’m really excited to get into the ‘ber months, and plan on maximising my time as much as I can whilst still chilling out. I want to spend my evenings blogging when I can (and restarting Gossip Girl) but treat myself to a night off during the week too.
