The day before a new year, I love to recap the goals I set right at the start of the year. I do this before setting next year’s goals too. Here’s a look at my 24 goals for 2024 review.
BUSINESS
Get 12 new clients
Ah, off to a good start. Not. I’ve had so much craziness on this year that unfortunately, my business wasn’t a priority most of the time. It’s hard when you rely on it for income but I made about enough to get by. 2025 is the year I give it another big push. So if you want some blog posts writing for you or your business/work, give me a shout!
Earn more from my business every month
As above, it was just about getting work done whenever I had a pocket of time to. This goal really wasn’t a focus for me very much at all.
BLOG
Focus on short-form content
This is going well already! In all honesty, I’m just not a short-form girlie but I want to be. I’m going to spend Christmas planning what sort of stuff I want to post.
Reboot money blog
If work fell by the wayside, so did my blogging, especially on my other sites. My money blog especially has sat dormant for the year!
Be 1 week ahead of all blog content
Again, I just had poor organisation and was void of ideas for most of the year. However, I’ve blogged enough to be content but I always want to do more!
MONEY
Save £10k
Haha, next.
Buy a car
Also a fail.
Get a credit card + use it wisely
This is a goal I’ve partially completed due to a lack of funds. However, using it wisely is not something I’ve done!
Set up digital product stores
I don’t really know why I set this as a goal, considering I didn’t even have a plan in place! Maybe it’s a side hustle I’ll add in 2025?
Keep track of sinking funds
I started well with this in Q1 but as life happened, I pulled all of my money out of my sinking funds to spend on various things. 2025 needs to be a big saving day for me so I hope to add this (or something similar) to my 2025 goals.
Aim for 20 NSDs a month
Other than the summer months (July-October), I’ve been good at getting around 20 no-spend days a month. This is another goal that I’ll be actively working on in 2025. Hopefully, I can plan my spending days and get as much bought on those days as I need.
HEALTH + FITNESS
Work on 80/20 lifestyle
I’d say I’ve worked on the healthy eating side of this. Sure, I still snack but nowhere near as much as I used to. I’ve tried to stress less but then many life events happened. Oh well, it was always going to be a work in progress.
Cook more new recipes
I’m glad I’ve really worked on this goal in 2024. I’d say I’ve probably tried a different recipe every month. The more important thins is that I’ve tried even more food than ever before. I was such a picky eater growing up so any new food is a triumph still!
Find my groove with my fitness routine
Oh dear, I think I worked out about three times total in 2024. We’ll try again next year.
PERSONAL
Declutter all of my possessions
Well, I did this early on in the year. However, I seem to have collated more as the year has gone on. It’s actually my plan for that time between Christmas and New Year to declutter a little more. I’m also doing a Project Pan in 2025 with all of my toiletries and beauty products. No buying until I don’t have any more of that item!
Publish decluttering eBook
Again, I did start the year writing whenever I felt like it but then I just stopped and never picked it back up again. Maybe I’ll write it and use it as a guide as I’m decluttering myself!
Take a BSL course
Whilst this is a bucket list goal, it’s not something that’s such a priority right now. I’ve completed French on Duolingo every day in 2024 though so at least I’m learning something.
Go on a solo writing trip
I’ve been on a handful of overnight trips in 2024 but I’ve done work on pretty much all of them. Not blog work but client work! Maybe it’ll come to fruition next year.
Take a week off work/blog per quarter
I took too much time off both in 2024 but unintentionally! In 2025, I aim to block this time off properly.
Get to an Arsenal Women’s match
A bucket list item completed. I got to the first game of the season against Man City and had a lovely day out. It was a long day but a fun day. It ended in a 2-2 draw but it’s better than a loss at the start of the season.
Read all books on physical shelves + Kindle
God, I’ve got too many to complete this even within the next five years. I also joined the library so I had a new crop of books every few weeks. That meant I hadn’t read as much as I already owned as I would’ve liked to.
Try 25 new eateries
This year was not the year for exploring. Being on a budget meant making the use of loyalty schemes on their apps and super cheap eats.
Read 52 books
As of Christmas Eve, I’ve managed to get through 54 books in 2024. I definitely had some dips throughout the year, reading just one or two one month to reading eight the next. Reading is meant to be fun though so I don’t mind about that.
See 50 theatre shows
Because I’ve been on a budget, I’ve only seen a handful of shows. However, it’s made it more special to either go to a press night locally or travel out of town to see something. I’ve got a bit booked in already for 2025 so I just need to buy my train tickets (minus my 26-30 railcard now because I’m too old, boohoo).
And that’s your lot on my 24 goals for 2024 review. It’s hard to look back and see you’ve barely achieved any of them but I’m also not going to be too hard on myself. I’ve had A LOT to deal with in 2024 so it is what it is.
