It’s Chriiiiiiiistmaaaaaas! Not quite but it’s not far off. I’m more excited for Christmas this year because I’m planning on taking at least three weeks off work, maybe four. The luxury of being self-employed, I know. October was a bit of an indifferent month for me. After a bit of travel and theatre, I’ve not really done anything terribly exciting! Before I go through my 10 goals for November 2021, let’s have a look back at October first.
OCTOBER REVIEW
Read 13 books
I managed 3, which is an improvement on previous months, but nowhere near what I need to reach 120 for the year. Setting a new goal could be a good idea!
Write 31 blog posts in 31 days
Well, this certainly didn’t work. I’ve spent a bit of time drafting future posts so not completely wasted my time. However, they need to be actually written now!
No-spend month
It was one of my lowest spending months of the year to date, which I’m happy with. Considering I had a London trip in there, I’m pretty happy with my spending this month. I had to buy myself a new Fitbit and some train tickets for January so that upped my spending a fair bit though.
Limit spending on London trip
I spent just over £80 whilst I was there, which included Travelodge wifi + late check-out, my Oystercard + fares and food + drink. I could make a couple of tweaks on future visits but I had budgeted around £100!
Create and follow a fitness plan
Never mind. Next!
Take a weekday off every week
Whilst I didn’t do this every week, I’ve tried as much as I can to take some time off every week. Sometimes, all you need is an afternoon in front of the telly to help you relax!
Get all clothes on eBay
Another one which I’ve not completed again. It’s just so time consuming!
Schedule CBS + TEE content for the month
Whilst I have zero blog content scheduled, the content plan for November is scheduled. For my business acocunts, I spent last Friday planning out November and December’s content. I got two weeks of social media and two blog posts written too. Win!
Keep up-to-date with US TV shows
Probably the laziest goal but one that I’ve kept up with. Friday afternoons are now my planning and TV time. Whilst I catch up with my US shows, I review the week and plan the next! It’s a lovely wind-down for the weekend too.
Continue writing eBook
I will finish this eBook eventually. Ask me this time next year.
OCTOBER STATS
4 – Number of TV series watched
2 – Number of theatre trips (reviews coming soon)
3 – Number of empties
3 – Number of books read
681 – Number of pages read
NOVEMBER GOALS
Now that October is done and out of the way, let’s take a look at my 10 goals for November 2021 now.
Read 8 books
I’ve brought my goal for the year down from 120 to 80 because there was no way I was going to reach it! I often spend a lot of time over Christmas reading, especially now I can take some proper time off.
Blog 3x a week
I’ve got plenty of ideas for blog posts for TEE as well as a backlog of drafts that need completing. I hope you’re ready for some theatre reviews because with the 4 shows I’ve seen this year and the handful of press nights I have coming up, there is a lot of theatre content to be written!
Start 2022 planning
I have big plans for next year with my business and blogs but need to start sitting down and planning them all out. I think I need a huge planning session where I just brain dump everything. Sometimes, just sitting down with a big piece of paper and coloured pens just lets my creativity flow!
Look for a 2022 planner
Whilst I don’t really need one, I’ll still be buying one! I’ve got my eye on a few but it’s just working out how much I can spend realistically and if it’s the perfect layout inside for me. I’m very fussy when it comes to planner layouts so I do a lot of research! Recommendations are always welcome though!
Pay my tax bill
I filed my tax return in April but have yet to pay my national insurance bill. I have until the end of January but with Christmas, my birthday and a trip to London sandwiched in between then and now, I’d rather get it paid as soon as. I’m hoping for a great month income wise so I can pay it and forget about it!
No spend month
Another no spend month for me because I need to get my savings pots back up and running. I need to sit down and plan what spending I will have between now and the end of the year and spend very little else! 2022 is the year I push my house fund further along so I might as well start now!
Spend 8 hours on personal development
I don’t know about you but I’ve got so many memberships, courses and eBooks and I’ve done nothing with them. In November, I’ve decided to spend a couple of hours a week dedicated to improving myself and learning new things. I’ve got a list of things I need to watch/read and will be ticking them off gradually.
Saved for my January London trip
The first trip of 2022 will be a 5 days/4 nights trips back to London. I plan on seeing about 8 shows when I’m there and only have one booked in so far (The Prince of Egypt’s closing night). I’m planning on buying tickets on the day but I’ll need a fair bit of money still. I’m aiming to save £500 so need to up my savings games!
Keep up with client work
Running a business is hard, especially when work is coming in sporadically. I want to have my best month yet, which means keeping on top of my various clients and what needs doing for which one! I’m not launching anything this year so my focus is 100% on client work.
Organise + utilise Asana
I have Asana set up but I’m not sure I use to its full potential. Maybe if I used it more for client deadlines, I’d be able to manage my workload better! I need to spend half a day sorting through it and seeing what is and isn’t relevant anymore.
And there you have it, my 10 goals for November 2021. The focus until the end of the year really is business, blogging and saving. I don’t have any big plans to end the year on so I just need to knuckle down and get on with stuff!
