Well, June was over fairly quickly! I had quite a mundane month but it did seem to fly by. Let me tell you, I lead a very boring life. Currently, I’m having a bit of a lull in income, meaning most plans and socialising have gone out of the window. Hopefully, it’s looking up for July. Let’s have a brief look at June 2023 in review.
BUSINESS SOCIALS REFRESH
I’ve been saying it for months that I want to post consistently on my business Instagram. I’ve actually done that in June! I’ve managed to post three times a week, which seems to work best for me. However, I have noticed that my engagement is way down. I might not have thousands of followers but I used to get at least a handful of likes. Now, it’s only a few!
MAGIC WEEKEND
I spent the entire weekend in front of the TV watching rugby league. Bliss. My team, Hull FC, had a great win over potential title contenders, Warrington, so I was in a great mood! I know, I’m a typical sports fan. My team winning makes my week, whether it’s Hull FC, Arsenal (men’s and women’s, of course), or South Sydney.
COOKING AGAIN
Our hob was out of action for nearly two weeks in the middle of the month and it was a nightmare. It got fixed on the 19th and I’ve never been so happy to cook! Since then, I’ve cooked at least four times a week, as well as cooking enough for leftovers the following day. I mostly cook Chinese food because I love a decent stir-fry with rice or noodles.
FINDING A DENTIST
Honestly, this has been the bane of my life since last year. I had a dentist pre-Covid, but they didn’t notify me to go for a check-up, I left it too long, and now I’m no longer classed as a patient there. I’ve finally found a dentist but I’ve had to go private. £267 for an initial consultation, a redo of my filling (that’s only four years old), and a scale/polish. Absolute rip-off but at least I’ve found somewhere. Now I need to find that money somehow!
ERAS TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT
Unfortunately, because of my dentist’s fee, it’s unlikely I’ll be able to afford them now. However, I did register for all UK dates because I need to see TSwizzle. I’ve only seen her live once (on the Red tour) and I need to see her again. I’m an OG fan (since Love Story) and then, I went back to purchase her debut album too. She’s my favourite artist and I will be selling a kidney to get those damn tickets!
STARTING MY FIRST 12-WEEK YEAR
It’s been two weeks since I started the 12-week year concept. So far, I’ve done fairly well, I’d give myself six out of ten. I’m really pleased with my diet but I need to work a little harder with my business, blog, and personal areas. Usually, I go all-in with a challenge and fail after three days. With this one, I’m easing my way in and hoping to start ramping it up this coming week.
And that’s a wrap on my June 2023 in review. I’m contemplating posting a blog post every day in July but I’m not going to push myself too hard on this! Come back tomorrow for my July goals post and June review (not sure I had a great success rate with my June goals). Feel free to message me on Instagram and Twitter to hold me accountable!
