Nearly halfway through the year and June really does feel like most of us are starting to get our shit together. It’s taken us five months and that’s okay! Let’s have a look back at how May was for me before diving into my 10 goals for June 2023.
MAY GOALS
Before I get into my 10 goals for June 2023, let’s recap my May goals first.
Follow Tone It Up workout plan
A definite no. I did one workout in the whole of May. Let’s try again in June!
Low-spend month
DONE. I had the lowest spending month of 2023 so far! In fairness, it was a low-earning month too so I didn’t have much choice. However, I’m kind of over just buying random crap for the sake of it now.
Work out of the house once a fortnight
50/50. I worked from a coffee shop once as I said in my May review. However, it wasn’t that productive because of the awful music playing. Lesson learned, always work out of the house in the morning, not in the afternoon.
Stick to content plans
It wasn’t my worst month in terms of blogging but I didn’t stick to my plans fully. I’ve already got June mapped out for my two blogs and businesses. So far, so good.
Continue with 75 Sustainable
DONE. Sure, it’s not the challenge that I’ve done the best with but I’ve liked at least trying to challenge myself to create healthier habits. I’ve really focused on upping my water and veg intake, as well as writing a gratitude list every morning. I’ve not completed every habit every day but I’m happy for the most part.
Start updating my biz website
Another no. It’s something that will be a big focus in June for me. I didn’t even realise my website was down until someone mentioned it on Instagram. Luckily, it was just my domain that needed renewing! Hopefully, it will be up and running soon so I can make some changes!
Brainstorm digital products
Again, it’s something that I do need to work on for passive income. However, right now, I need to concentrate on getting more retainer clients for my business first.
Find new dinnertime recipes
DONE. I’ve been reducing the amount of meat that I eat, meaning I cook a lot with Quorn pieces. Their website has lots of recipes on it that I’ve collated on Notion. I’ve tried one so far (vegetarian teriyaki) and it was bloody awful! Hopefully, the rest won’t be so bad!
Take more photos
Urgh, I’m just not a photographer! However, with blogging, social media, especially Instagram, goes hand-in-hand with it. My life is just so mundane too that it’s just not interesting enough to take photos of. I sit at my desk and work, sit on the sofa and watch TV, and sit in bed and organise my life. Trust me, I’m very dull.
Plan travel for the rest of 2023
Sort of. I’ve got some plans pencilled in but nothing booked or set in stone. I’ve moved a couple of theatre tickets to July in the West End so need to book my trains/hotel for that trip as a first priority. Travel is just so expensive right now so I need to start making more money if I want to visit the rest of the UK!

JUNE GOALS
Now that May is over, let’s take a look at my 10 goals for June 2023.
Try a new work schedule
I’m most productive in the morning yet always seem to leave client work for the afternoon. I might try only working on client stuff in the morning and my own content in the afternoon during June. Going self-employed was meant to be about freedom so why do I sit at my desk 8am to 6pm?!
Work out of the house twice
Leading on from my new schedule, getting out of the house is a must. Again, I’m productive when I sit in a coffee shop for the morning (unless it’s school holidays) and then, the rest of the day is open! I tried working in Starbucks last week in the afternoon and it was noisy from both music and people. Dance music is not appropriate coffee shop music in my opinion!
Stick to content plans for June + set up for July (and Instagram content)
June is scheduled in Asana for all three of my websites, now it’s just time to create and schedule! This also means carving out time in my week to sit down and write. I’d also like to get a start on July’s schedule too and even start planning out a proper return to Instagram. I’ve started posting on my business Instagram again but with my blog account, it’s very sporadic.
Update business content services
One thing I need to do to make more money and get more clients is sort out my business packages. Right now, I have a mixture and I’m unsure whether I want to keep, edit, or retire them. I love blogging for my clients but if they want other content, maybe I just keep that as an add-on, rather than a full content package.
Declutter my external hard-drive
My laptop has the bare minimum on it, in terms of pictures and documents. However, the same cannot be said for my external hard-drive. It’s sorted into folders but they’re just jam-packed. I move items to folders, rather than declutter them first. It needs tidying up so I have more space on there.
Focus on a simple summer morning routine
My full morning routine can be an elaborate affair but during the summer, I just like to get up and enjoy my day. During the winter, my mornings are much cosier but in the summer, it’s too light outside to stay in bed! Ideally, I’ll add a workout to the routine because I need to get moving more.
Low-spend month/25 NSDs
Whilst this sounds very drastic, it’s realistic for me. It obviously doesn’t count regular bills, payments, or subscriptions. If I’m working out of the house, I’ll also run errands on that day too. I’ve really limited my online shopping too lately, deleting my card details from most websites and not looking just when I’m bored! 25 no-spend days is a push but I reckon I can do it!
Deep clean bedroom + office
Before summer kicks in and it gets too hot, I want to deep clean my spaces, particularly my bedroom and home office. They’re not a mess per se but you know when a space just feels cluttered? I just need to deep clean and tidy in one long weekend.
Set up summer capsule wardrobe
At the end of the month, I’ll be switching over to my summer wardrobe. Before then, I need to make a wishlist because I know I barely have any summer clothing. I’ve got five pairs of shorts but three are like joggers-material and the other two are super thin and flowy. I might want some denim shorts or tailored shorts, possibly knee-length. Whilst I don’t leave the house much, I do like to look polished when I do!
Take the last week of June off client work
I’ve not had a proper break for some time, maybe in January. I want to get ahead with client work so I can take the last week of the month off. This will be when I write blog posts for this blog and my minimalism blog, as well as schedule my business content.
That’s a wrap on my 10 goals for June 2023. It’s a real mixed bag as I work on my business, my blogs, and my health and fitness. Feel free to share any of your goals in the comments and we can keep each other accountable!
