Anyone else feeling overwhelmed by everything they have to do? We’ve got work, hobbies, family/friends/a relationship, housework, health and fitness and plenty of other categories. That’s why I’m getting back to basics. Here’s how I’m organising my life in Q2 2025 and in order of priority too!
CLIENT WORK
This is my main focus for the next three months. I work three days a week with one client right now, leaving me four spare days a week to work. Because I’m not a crazy person, I try to give myself two days off (sometimes a weekend, sometimes one weekday + one weekend day). That leaves me two days a week. Ideally, I’d use one day for another client and another for blogging. Sometimes, I need two days for my other client so it’s about managing my workload with them. It changes weekly so that’s why I’m so big on my weekly reset.
HEALTH + FITNESS
My second main priority for Q2 is my health and fitness. I’ve restarted 75 Soft today for the umpteenth time so I’m aiming to complete it. However, I have a jam-packed Q2 so I’ll be gentle with myself when I eat a meal out or skip a workout. Again, it will require a lot of planning so I’ve got meal planning and prepping to consider, which days I can work out on or which days I’ll be walking instead and fitting reading into my schedule.
BLOGGING
This has fallen out of my schedule recently due to trying to balance my client work. I keep saying I’ll dedicate one day a week to blogging. As I said above, I’d rather prioritise client work and making money. At the start of the year, I wanted to post to one of my blogs every single day. I’m nowhere near doing that and it’s okay to move the goalposts a little on such a big goal. In Q2, I want to write five blog posts a week (three times to this blog and once to each of my other two blogs). Whether that’s writing for a couple of hours every night or one full day a week will just depend on my schedule yet again!
FINANCES
I’ve spent far too much money in Q1 so Q2 is when I need to get back to low-spend months. However, as you’ll see in the next section, I have a lot planned for Q2. However, I want to plan my spending days every month and compensate by spending the rest of the time. I’ll still keep up with my weekly money routine as it’s so good to go into the week knowing what went well and what went well the previous week. I also plan to stick to my monthly budget as best I can. I’ll also be saving up for my tax bill and trying to pay it as soon as possible.
TRAVEL + THEATRE
In Q2, I have 11 theatre day trips out of town as well as a potential seven local press nights. I budget around £50 for a day trip for food, drinks and miscellaneous spending and I also need to buy my train tickets for my June trips too. On the occasional trip to Leeds or Sheffield, I might give myself an extra clothing or beauty budget because quite frankly, Hull sucks for shopping. My main freelance job pays me mid-month so I put a chunk of that money aside for next month’s travel.
HOBBIES
Other than theatre, my life revolves around sport. Working in rugby league now means my work shifts often fit in around a live game so I sometimes work nights and/or weekends. However, I’m also a massive F1 fan and you all know that women’s football is my other big love, especially Arsenal (I support the men’s team too). My weekends are mostly spent watching sport.
However, I’ve got the reading bug back recently so I’m trying to incorporate it into my day more, instead of just before bed. I’m going to try and read during my dinner hour as well as carve out more time on a weekend too. I’ve also started journalling a tonne again, from jotting down my thoughts in a morning to bullet journalling every week. It’s evolved into scrapbooking too as I’ve finally started my theatre scrapbook after putting it off for years. I’ve started one for 2025 but I’m going to purchase another to do 2021-2024.
ORGANISATION
In order to balance everything, I need to get back on my organisation grind. That means doing my weekly planning routine every Sunday. It means getting back to planning my meals, workouts and walks. I’ve started time-blocking my Google Calendar again too. I’ll also be getting back to writing my to-do lists too and planning just about every inch of my life.
My main priority for Q2 is to learn to balance everything in my life as much as I can. Structure and routine will definitely help me achieve this but I also know that balance isn’t a yes or no type of thing. That’s how I’m organising my life in Q2 2025 by getting my shit together and taking it a day at a time.
