You’ll be able to see that reading is starting to take priority over watching TV, which I never thought would happen! Despite growing up as a reader, I’ve really got into telly in adulthood. Here’s a closer look at my July 2026 media wrap-up.
BOOKS
I managed to get up-to-date with three book series in July. Starting with The Darling Devils trilogy by Alexandra Moody, I enjoyed the YA aspects of these books, as they were fun and light-hearted. Sometimes, you don’t need a load of spice to make a good chick lit or romance book!
Next, I read the second book in the Maroon Management series, but I was left a little disappointed. I wasn’t a fan of the MMC, and there were too many spelling and grammar errors in the book that I couldn’t get past! I’m not sure if it was the formatting on the Kindle either, but it just made it difficult to read.
After that, I started and completed the Holland Brothers series by Rebecca Jenshak, reading all four books. I really enjoyed reading about four sporting brothers and the women who captured their hearts. Each brother is very different but also quite similar. What I loved the most was how strong and independent the women seemed to be, mostly career-focused.
To finish off the month, my friend recommended that I try the Dirty Air series by Lauren Asher. I’ve struggled to find a decent romance book about F1, as they always feel seedy, usually a male driver having it off with a female member of staff. However, this might be the series that changes my opinion. As I’m writing this, I’ve actually since finished the series, and I loved it!
Books read in July 2026:
- Grumpy Darling – Alexandra Moody
- Wild Darling – Alexandra Moody
- Worth the Lies – E.L. Moran
- Burnout – Rebecca Jenshak
- Playbook – Rebecca Jenshak
- Comeback – Rebecca Jenshak
- Spotlight – Rebecca Jenshak
- Throttled – Lauren Asher
TV
As you can see, I feel like I didn’t watch that much telly. However, I got through 27 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and 43 episodes of SVU, which is around 47 hours of telly! The earlier seasons of both shows are some of the best. Despite both being about serious subjects, both have so many funny moments frequently. I think most of that comes down to the casting of certain actors and their ability to make exceptional one-liners.
Most evenings, I’ve been watching The Hundred, which is a cricket tournament. It’s been on most nights, so I’d either be watching the cricket, Super League or my box sets. However, we’re coming into football season, so I might watch even less ‘regular’ telly now!
TV watched in July 2026:
- Grey’s Anatomy season 2
- Law and Order SVU seasons 1-2
- The Hundred
And that’s everything for my July 2026 media wrap-up. As I’m trying to spend less time in front of screens, it means more books and fewer shows. With the warmer weather, it’s been refreshing to spend less time inside.
