I love getting around to writing these posts every month, because I do consume a lot of media. In June, it was all about reading as much as I could and watching some newly released TV shows. Here’s my June 2026 media wrap-up.
BOOKS
Another strong reading month for me filled with sports romances. I managed to read the final three books (so far) in the DC Stars series by Chelsea Curto. The sixth book’s release date keeps moving, though, so I imagine it will be on my August media wrap-up. After that, I read two average books, Wicket Maiden by Chrissie Harrison and The Striker by Ana Huang. Harrison’s book is about cricket, and I just couldn’t get along with either of the lead characters, plus the storyline wasn’t to my taste either. This is the third book by Huang that I’ve tried to read in three different series, and I just do not enjoy her writing style at all.
Following those, I started the Darling Devils series by Alexandra Moody, and it’s another hockey romance series. This one is more YA, which I didn’t realise until I finished the first book. However, the storylines are cute, and the characters are pretty likeable too. I don’t mind reading something lighter on occasion!
Books read in June 2026:
- Slap Shot – Chelsea Curto
- Hat Trick – Chelsea Curto
- Sin Bin – Chelsea Curto
- Wicket Maiden – Chrissie Harrison
- The Striker – Ana Huang
- Rival Darling – Alexandra Moody
TV
I told myself that I wouldn’t watch Off Campus again for a while, but alas, I watched it for the fifth time. June had two new releases that I was excited to watch: Every Year After and the new season of America’s Sweethearts. Both of them were a little disappointing. EYA was very different from the book, and I just didn’t love the main couple in the series. In fact, the ensemble characters were much more engaging. AS season 3 was also a bit of a dud, as there’s so much less dancing than before. I’ll always be loyal to the OG show, Making the Team.
I’ve also restarted Grey’s Anatomy, because I needed to watch a comfort show. The earlier seasons might be depressing, but there are so many funny moments too. I think I’ll watch Grey’s as my evening show, and SVU as my daytime show whenever I’m working from home. I’ve just bought the first 15 seasons of the show on Prime Video, whereas I have the old-school DVDs of Grey’s to watch.
TV watched in June 2026:
- Off Campus (again)
- Every Year After
- America’s Sweethearts season 3
- Grey’s Anatomy season 1
And that’s everything for my June 2026 media wrap-up. I feel like I haven’t had much free time to watch much last month, but I’ve also spent far too much time doom-scrolling on TikTok mostly. I’m sure that I’ll get much more watched and read in July, or here’s hoping!
