Thank god March is nearly over. Is anyone else feeling like they’ve boarded the struggle bus lately? I’m so ready for spring, a fresh start, and some warmer days. Before I share my April goals tomorrow, let’s first have a look back at March 2023 in review.
GETTING BACK INTO BLOGGING
Whilst I wouldn’t say I stopped blogging, I did fall out of love with it. However, after a brainstorming session, I feel so much more motivated than before! I think I’ve decided to keep The English Everygirl as a lifestyle brand, meaning I can blog about more topics. I’ve been loving writing organisational content lately so let me know if you’d like me to write more!
A CINEMA TRIP
It’s been forever since I’ve been to the cinema or taken myself out on a date so I combined the two. I went to see What’s Love Got to Do With It; I liked the two leads but didn’t think they had much chemistry. Plus Emma Thompson’s character came across as pretty racist. 3/5 for me. However, the experience itself was lovely. I bought some snacks pre-cinema and loved the escapism for a couple of hours. Even better, there were only six other people in the screening so we could spread out! I managed to nab a back-row seat, smack bang in the middle. I think the last time I did that was years ago on a date!
F1 RETURN
Sport rules my life (especially at weekends) and I’m glad F1 is back. Although I hate the direction that the sport is going in (Americanised), I’ll stay for Lewis Hamilton. He’s the reason I really got into the sport back in 2007, even though I’d watched the sport since I was about 9. It’s hard to watch without Vettel and Ricciardo this season though!
RESETS AND ROUTINES
Something I’ve been trying to work on in March has been redefining my resets and routines. I think I’ve got my weekly and monthly resets down and I’m still working on daily routines, such as my morning and evening routines. It’s also important to acknowledge that you can change them all up, depending on your mood, the season, or any other reason! One routine I’ve really been focusing on is my morning routine, simply because I don’t want to be on my phone as soon as I wake up. Spending the first hour of my day with my headphones in and getting ready has been a revelation!
PREPPING FOR SPRING
As I said above, I’ve been resetting in March, which includes getting ready for spring. I’ve been a little demotivated since the start of the year (probably turning 30 did that to me) so spring feels like a fresh start. I’m mostly just excited to not have to wear six layers in my home office. I’d like that sooner rather than later too. I’ve had a spring clean of the house, organised my capsule wardrobe for spring, and started planning more, both digitally and in my bullet journal.
Q2 PLANNING
As I said above, I’ve spent the last week plotting out Q2 for my life. my business and my blogs. Whilst I do plan on a weekly and monthly basis too, it’s easier to see the quarter visually before you get into the finer details. I can see where I already have theatre and travel plans, meaning I can book appointments around them. It also allows me to plan out my content, especially with this blog, as theatre reviews take priority and other ideas just slot in around them. My plans for Q2 are really just to focus on writing, both for my websites and clients, and prioritise healthy habits and myself much more.
ARSENAL WON A TROPHY
My Arsenal girlies did the thing and won the Conti Cup Final! I couldn’t be more proud of them because it’s been a rough season but things are finally looking up. Of course, we miss our star couple Meadema, but we’re looking better across the field now. On Wednesday night, we managed to win our Champions League quarter-final so onto the semi-finals we go! Let’s start improving our league form finally and keep in the title race.
These reviews are always pretty short and sweet but I’d rather not ramble on too much. If you enjoyed my March 2023 in review, leave me a comment below. If you want to follow my life on a daily basis, follow me on Twitter and Instagram too!
