April was a fun month for me when I look at the media that I consumed. I’d love to say that variety is the spice of life, but I like what I like! Sure, I like to mix it up occasionally, but I watch the same shows on repeat, and listen to the same music artists. Here’s my April 2026 media wrap-up.
THEATRE SHOWS
It was a quieter month for theatre for me, but I still got to see two incredible shows. First up, I saw my first tour stop of the anniversary tour of Waitress. I got to see the incredible Emma Lucia’s debut as Jenna, and my god, she was made for this role. Dan Partridge was outstanding as Dr Pomatter, and I’m excited to see the show again at the end of May in Manchester. The second show I saw in April was Legally Blonde again. This time, I got to see Hannah Lowther as Elle, and she was spectacular. Both she and Amber Davies are both fantastic in the role, and we should appreciate both queens equally!
Theatre shows seen in April 2026:
- Waitress @ Bradford Alhambra
- Legally Blonde @ York Grand Opera House
BOOKS
You might be able to sense a theme here, but I’m making my way through all of Elle Kennedy’s books! In April, I managed to finish 8 books, which is the most I’ve read in ages. It’s probably because most of them are re-reads, but they’re also very easy to read for me. I’ve been consistently reading on my commutes to and from work (15 minutes to and then from work on the train 2-4 times a week). Also, I’ve been reading on my lunch breaks, which are two 30-minute breaks when I do a full day at the Post Office. I’m so back in my reading era, thanks to Briar U!
Books read in April 2026:
- The Score – Elle Kennedy
- The Goal – Elle Kennedy
- The Legacy – Elle Kennedy
- The Chase – Elle Kennedy
- The Risk – Elle Kennedy
- The Play – Elle Kennedy
- The Dare – Elle Kennedy
- The Graham Effect – Elle Kennedy
TV
Although I managed to watch nine seasons of various TV shows, it doesn’t seem like that much to me! I’m slowly making my way through my Chicago PD rewatch, watching it most nights. You all know I have an addiction to the DCC shows, and I managed to finish all the MTT shows as well as both seasons of the Netflix docuseries. Hopefully, season 3 is coming in June!
TV shows watched in April 2026:
- Chicago PD seasons 5-7
- Great British Bake Off series 12
- Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team seasons 14-16
- America’s Sweethearts (Netflix) seasons 1-2
MUSIC
As you can see, I only listen to new music by my favourite artists. In April, that was Dan + Shay’s new single, as well as the Broadway soundtrack of Chess. I listened to Waitress on repeat before seeing the show, and was in the mood for some Disney Channel hits too. As always, whenever I don’t know what I want to listen to, I download anything by Kelsea Ballerini.
Music listened to in April 2026:
- Dan + Shay’s new single, Say So
- Vanessa Hudgens’ V album
- Chess the Musical Broadway soundtrack album
- Waitress Broadway soundtrack album
- The Cheetah Girls
- Kacey Musgraves (in preparation for her new album)
- Kelsea Ballerini – always!
PODCASTS
I’m not a huge podcast girlie, but one day on my commute, I wasn’t in the mood for music. I’ve been a fan of Michela Allocca and her Break Your Budget brand for years, and decided to give her podcast a go. I love how real she is, and she makes having your financial shit together sound really appealing! I’m definitely trying to implement what I can from her.
Podcasts listened to in April 2026:
- Don’t Depend on Daddy – Michela Allocca
And that’s it for my April 2026 media wrap-up. May looks to be exciting with lots of new TV and music releases, as well as continuing with what I’m already watching. If you enjoyed this post, you can find my other TV and film content here. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok too.
