Welcome back to the Sunday Diaries 004. This past week has been pretty work dominant because I took on a new client! That means I need to start managing my time better now so I can fit everything in as well as my own stuff. Let’s take a closer look at my week.
BACK TO INSTAGRAM
I finally kick-started my business IG after taking nearly three weeks off. I’ve been playing around on Canva with some new graphics and planned out a rough schedule for August. I’m exctied to experiment a bit more and turn Instagram into a fun tool, not a chore.
NEW SERVICES EPIPHANY
Something I’ve been working on for a while in my freelance biz is thinking about the packages I offer. I have a real passion for helping small businesses but I realised I need to look at a range of price points. I’d love to help more start-ups as often, they have no idea where to start with their content. My new services will be a smaller investment for them and larger for those wanting to scale.
DODGY CLIENTS
Dealing with clients and not getting paid is the worst part of being self-employed. Currently, I’m dealing with a company who want to pay me a very low rate for a piece of completed work. Stupidly, I didn’t fully agree the work beforehand as it wqas a test piece. Pay freelancers what they’re worth!
ZOOM CALLS
This week, I’ve been on five Zoom calls with various memberships. They can be incredibly draining but I do a mixture of co-working and training. I find co-working to be super productive for me so I always get a lot done! However, lots of Zoom calls equals lots of Zoom fatigue.
OLYMPICS BINGE
Despite it only starting on Friday, I watched the opening ceremony plus spent my entire Saturday and Sunday watching a range of sports (cycling road race, men’s artistic gymnastics, women’s football, judo, swimming, anything that was on). I’ll probably spend most of the next couple of weeks watching it too!
