December is usually a month where I watch a shedload of TV and films; however, with uni deadlines, extra shifts at work plus travelling to and from Sheffield for both Christmas and New Year, I’ve not watched a great deal!
You can read previous editions for September/October and November if you want! Of course, I have watched some TV and films so here’s a quick look at what I’ve been watching!
In all honesty, I didn’t give this film my full attention but I wasn’t overly impressed. I’ll definitely give it another go though because I wasn’t watching it properly!Carousel
Now this is a weepy one. The songs and story are great and I challenge you to watch the end scene and not cry!Cats
So many incredible songs! I’d actually forgotten about how many songs I knew from this. I’m sure my neighbours loved me singing along to them!
The Muppets Christmas Carol
This is by far my favourite Christmas film! Michael Caine is a national treasure but he really can’t sing! The soundtrack is so catchy too!
The Muppets Movie
This is such a great film to watch on a rainy day. Again, it’s a great sing-a-long and I adore the new Muppet, Walter!
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
This was always a childhood favourite because my dad used to watch it constantly as a kid too. Angela Lansbury is fabulous as a witch but when the Nazis invade, that scene is a little scary for kids!
The West Wing season 1
Thanks to my dad’s recommendation and him lending me the box set, I’ve become addicted to The West Wing. I’m really trying to watch more classic TV and films and this is definitely a classic. It’s ridiculously funny as well as informative!
Chicago Fire season 4
However you feel about who won, you can’t deny that this season was phenomenal! I was Team Alexandra, mostly because of my love of Gorka, but I was thrilled that Joe won! I also loved watching the Christmas special and was so happy to see Jeremy Vine dancing again!
I’m not entirely sure why I started watching this but I was hooked in the end. If you can get over the nudity and sex scenes (they do fit with the storyline!), it’s a really great show. Riley Keough really did a phenomenal job in her role as Christine.
John Tucker Must Die
Who doesn’t love a girl power film? It’s a great feel-good movie with a fantastic cast! It’s one of those films I can watch any time, any day!
Bend It Like Beckham
I’ve not watched this film in years and my god, I forgot how much I loved it. I can’t believe it came out in 2002 as well, that makes me feel so old! How handsome is Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in this too?
Stuck In Love
Any film with Logan Lerman in is a film I will watch (he’s one of my celebrity crushes!) and I adore his romance with Lily Collins in this. It’s such a good film to watch on a girls night in!
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit
I’ve been a Wallace and Gromit fan for many years now and this is my second favourite movie (A Close Shave is number one!). I love the British humour and innuendo in their movies too; I didn’t understand it when I was younger so it makes me giggle even more now!
Cheesy Christmas movies
I’ve watched so many, I don’t even recall what most of them were even called. I’ve watched 12 Men of Christmas, A Gift Wrapped Christmas, Merry Kissmas, basically any of those Hallmark/Lifetime movies and some on Sony Movies. There was a point where I was watching a couple a day!
