As you all know, I love to watch TV. In fact, I’d say it’s probably my favourite hobby. I don’t care if that makes me seem lazy because it’s true! Here’s what I watched in February 2025, including some of my favourite box sets.
SVU s11-14
I’m slowly trying to get through every season of SVU this year and it’s become my go-to daytime show. It’s ideal for working days on the sofa because it’s mostly background noise and I’ve seen every episode multiple times. These four seasons feature some of my favourite episodes too. I’m probably in the minority but I actually enjoy the seasons after Stabler leaves. I was more sad about Munch and Cragen leaving personally. Rollins is a great addition to the show whereas Amaro is basically just Stabler’s replacement in many ways. ADA Barba is my all-time favourite character too!
Gossip Girl s4+5
I’m very nearly at the end of my rewatch. I actually find season 5 one of the most boring of them all. It felt like they ran out of ideas and just coupled up random characters that hadn’t been romantically involved before. Ironically, I used to hate Dan and Blair as a couple. However, as I’ve gotten older, I actually realised that they had quite a lot in common and worked because they were friends first. I’ve also realised that every character is massively unlikeable as they get older. Even Blair, my favourite ‘main’ character, still acts like she’s in high school when she’s a grown adult. Team Dorota all the way. Also, Georgina is also one of the better characters and I was so sad to hear about Michelle Trachtenburg’s passing.
Law and Order s19+20
I got to my end of watching the original Law and Order seasons for the very first time. I’m surprised that I enjoyed the later seasons because normally, I don’t with long-running shows! I was a big fan of Lupo and Bernard as police detective partners as they were similar in personality but also pretty different. There were some massive guest stars in these two seasons too, from Annaleigh Ashford (as a musical girlie, I love her) to Raúl Esparza (before he was Barba, also another musical theatre legend).
Boyzone: No Matter What
I’m not entirely sure where I sit with this documentary. Louis Walsh, as expected, came across like an absolute prick and he has absolutely no conscience whatsoever. Ronan Keating also came off as fame-hungry but it also felt like he did work hard to be the most successful member of the band. After all three episodes especially after their reunion after Stephen’s death, it felt like Shane and Keith were still acting like teenagers and a little unprofessional on tour. I’d have loved to have seen more about Stephen’s life because he was easily the most talented and beloved by fans. However, I understand his friends and family not wanting to share too much about his life, especially his personal life.
Jack the Ripper: The Case Reopened
This is a documentary that I’ve watched before but there was nothing else on in the hotel on a Sunday evening. It featured Emilia Fox for some reason and my fave criminologist, Professor David Wilson. It was intriguing to see that there could’ve been another Ripper victim although not surprising as I’m sure he’s killed way more than just the canonical five. As to who the Ripper was, I’ve seen multiple documentaries and read lots of books and I’m still none the wiser. I’ll always be fascinated by UK serial killers so I watch quite a lot of documentaries about them.
That’s everything what I watched in February 2025. It doesn’t seem like a lot but some of those seasons were 22-24 episodes long! In practice, it’s hours and hours of TV, either during the work day, on my days off or on an evening when I’m blogging in bed.
