I’ve been an Asana girlie for the longest time. Since getting addicted to YouTube, so many of the organisation videos I watch plan their life in Notion. Because I was intrigued, I set an account up and have been trialling it for a few months. Whilst I still use Asana for daily planning, you can see below what I’ve been using Notion for.
ENTERTAINMENT TRACKER
As you all know, I watch quite a lot of TV, judging by my monthly watchlists. Whilst I do track them on the TV Time app and in my bullet journal, I like to track various series on my Notion too. Usually, it’s just the ones that have multiple seasons to watch, such as my US emergency services dramas or new shows I’ve started. Also, I’ve recently added a to-watch list because I’m the person who watches trending shows about three years after they’ve been streaming.
As well as TV and film, I also track the books I’ve been reading as well as those I want to read. Again, I track these on GoodReads and in my bullet journal. However, it’s good to reference it on my laptop if I’m shopping on Amazon. One thing I want to add is my TBR list but for physical books I have on my shelves. I mostly read on my Kindle but I’ve got bookshelves of unread books everywhere!
RECIPE COLLECTION
One thing I discovered during lockdown was a love of cooking. Whilst I don’t cook every single day (sometimes, cooking a frozen pizza or chicken strips just hits the spot), I have a big appreciation for Asian cooking. Granted my cooking is not restaurant quality, but it’s been fun to try new stuff. I go for simple recipes because I’m quite a fussy eater. Mostly, I cook stir fry because it’s the best way for me to get more veg into my diet! However, I’m also trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat to a couple of meals a week so I’ve been on the Quron website checking out their recipe selection!
ROUTINES + RESETS
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m very big on routines and resets. In fact, I’m writing a whole blog series on just that. So far I’ve shared my work-from-home routine, and my spring morning and evening routine as well as posts on how to set up both a weekly and a monthly reset. In order to keep track of them, I have a page for each routine. Like I’ve said in those posts, I don’t complete every single task every single time. I’ve merely made them as a guideline for the types of tasks I’d like to get done. If I don’t deep clean my desk every week, it’s not the end of the world. As long as it’s tidy-ish, that’s good enough for me!
BEAUTY NOTES
This is something new that I’ve added as a collection of my skincare and beauty notes. Included are my morning/evening skincare routines, my current shopping list of products I need or want to try, and a section for products that I didn’t like. As someone with sensitive skin, I always forget that a product didn’t suit my skin and rebuy it. By jotting these products down and why I didn’t like them, I can refer to them when out and about! My shopping list section isn’t very large right now. I’m trying to do my beauty shopping at the end of every quarter. This is an attempt to shop my own stash, only buy essentials, and spend less!
GOALS
On Notion currently, I have my monthly and yearly goals for 2023. Again, I track them in my bullet journal still but it just means I have access to them at all times. The Notion app for iPhone is fab for when you’re on the go! You all know that I’m big on goals here so being able to track them regularly is the most important part. I tend to look at my monthly goals at the end of every week to see if there’s anything I need to work on. With my yearly goals, I look at them at the end of every month before setting the next month’s goals.
If you want to get your life organised, get yourself on a project management tool. As you can what I’ve been using Notion for above, you really can use it as much or as little as you want. Because I still do a mixture of digital and paper planning, I doubt I’ll solely stick to one!
Want more organisation blog posts? You can read them all right here! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter. I’m always sharing my planning systems on both.
