Only one month left of the year before the New Year and my big 30th birthday! I adore January, despite most people not being a fan, and December is my time to prepare for that. Let’s have a closer look at my 10 goals for December 2022!
NOVEMBER GOALS
Before we get stuck into my 10 goals for December 2022, let’s look back at a weird November for me!
18 no-spend days
I managed 15, which isn’t too bad. I had a couple of unexpected outgoings but other than that, I’m pretty pleased. Kindle Books are my vice so I need to just buy them on spending days! Giving up a no-spend day for a 99p book is frustrating!
Project50 restart
DONE. I did start this, which lasted about a week, and then came down with the flu. That’s knocked me out for over a week now so I’ll restart in the New Year.
Keep up with weekly + monthly resets
DONE. Again, I kept up with my resets. However, I did miss my last weekly reset last week because of the flu. No point in setting up when you still feel rubbish!
Create + schedule November/December content plans
DONE. Whilst I haven’t created a plan for November (thanks flu), I have started my December content planning and started to write those blog posts too!
Write 5 client blog posts a week
A big fail for me. Being sick and self-employed is a hard situation to be in and I’ve definitely learned a lot for the future!
Prep for Christmas/2023
DONE. I made my Christmas wishlist for my parents, I’ve done some work on how to improve my daily/weekly/monthly routines, and got some planning/stationery supplies for 2023. Now I need to buy presents, decorate and have a chilled end to the year.
Save 20% of every invoice
DONE-ISH. I did do this but then I spent this money on Black Friday stuff, oops!
Use Google Calendar to plan week + time-blocking
I didn’t do this purely because it felt too restrictive for now. However, I’ve decided to theme my five weekdays: three for client work, one for blogging, and one for business stuff.
Get one new business client
I definitely didn’t do this but that’s okay. I have enough work, for now, to get me by until the end of 2022. Next year is when I can ramp up my client roster and have a bit of a reshuffle with my time and capacity.
Track writing for every project
Another massive no. I just can’t be bothered to track every single word count for every client blog post, personal blog post, and personal writing!
NOVEMBER RECAP
10 – Number of TV series watched (DCC:MTT s7-9, Gilmore Girls s2-3, 9-1-1 s3-5, Libby: Are You Home Yet?, and GBBO s13)
8 – Number of films watched (Unperfect Christmas Wish, Christmas In My Heart, The Christmas Temp, Christmas 9 to 5, Check Inn To Christmas, The Christmas Contract, Write Before Christmas, and Ghosts of Christmas Always)
1 – Number of blog posts written (10 Goals for November 2022)
1 – Number of empties (Byoma Hydrating Serum)
15 – Number of no-spend days
3 – Number of books read (Happy Planning – Charlotte Plain, Dopamine Detox – Thibaut Meurisse, and Immediate Action – Thibaut Meurisse)
365 – Number of pages read
DECEMBER GOALS
Now November is done and dusted, let’s set up my 10 goals for December 2022.;
Low-spend month
Other than my usual expenses and a handful of Christmas presents, I have some travel to pay for in January and that’s it. Christmas is usually a time of high spending but this year, we’re doing it on the cheap. I have everything I need so I’d rather spend time with family and friends.
Finish work on 16th December
This year, I’m taking a proper Christmas break. Whilst I’ll probably work on my own websites during the Chrimbo Limbo time because I know I’ll get bored, I won’t be doing client work. I’ll be emailing clients next week to let them know my plans!
Set up for 2023
This means having a huge goal-setting session and setting up my 2023 planners properly. I’m going to try bullet journalling this year too but it will be fairly simplistic because I’m not an artist. I have big plans for next year with my business and blogs!
Reach income goal for December
Even though I have less time to make money, I’ve set myself a goal for the month. December is often my busiest time so I also need to remind myself not to burn out!
Have a massive decluttering session
I’m all about that New Year, new space vibes so I’ll be using a fair bit of time to declutter. I’ll go through my wardrobe and drawers and office. Hopefully, I’ll create a bit more room for new bits and bobs.
Do lots of Christmas baking
It’s been such a long time since I baked and this Christmas, I really want to get back into it. I’ve got tonnes of ingredients in the cupboard and I love trying new recipes. Mostly, I focus on chocolate because it’s the best flavour!
Content planning for 2023
Once again, I want to get ahead with my content, even by just one week. I can’t wait to use Chrimbo Limbo to have some massive brainstorming sessions for my websites!
Set up a cosy morning routine
I’ll never be someone who can get up at 5am and get moving straight away. However, I’m happy to lean into the cosiness of the winter and incorporate it more. I’d love to start reading in bed first thing with a mug of hot chocolate before I fully start my day.
Pay my tax bill
It’s due at the end of January but why not pay it early if I can? If I have a low-spend month, there’s no reason to not be able to pay it early.
Show up on Instagram more
I’m not setting a number of posts/stories/Reels figure here, just simply to show up more. I find Instagram quite overwhelming now because I’m not a video girl. Maybe I’ll just go old-school and post random pics with very little reasoning!
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for December 2022! As you can probably tell, I enjoy Christmas but I also love setting up for a brand new year. January is much more my month because of my birthday but in just over a month, I’ll be turning 30!
Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and Instagram for daily musings! I’m excited to get stuck in with blogging again, especially in the lead-up to Christmas and 2023!
