January, over and out! It was definitely a trying month so I’m excited to have a fresh start in February. January was a trial run so I’m glad it’s out of the way. Let’s crack on with my 10 goals for February 2023 but first, reflect on my January goals.
JANUARY GOALS
Get fresh air daily
DONE-ISH. Whilst I haven’t done this every day, I’ve probably left the house more this month than I did for the entirety of November and December last year put together! This is definitely a habit that I’d like to continue throughout 2023 but try to be a bit more realistic. A few times a week is enough for me. I managed 14 days in January so I’ll aim to beat that in February.
Try 4 new eateries
Despite having a trip, I had a tonne of offers at my favourite chain places so only tried one new eatery in January. It’s a pub I went to last about 10 years ago so I’m classing it as new to me!
A low-spend month
DONE! Other than my London trip (which I managed to do for just over £500 total), I’d say I was successful with a low-spend month. Of course, there will always be a few rogue buys (such as books) but for the most part, I was very good! I set myself a budget and managed to spend about a third less than expected. Result!
Pay my tax bill
DONE! I paid it on the 26th so a few days in advance. Next time, I’ll go back to paying it in monthly installments so I don’t have one lump sum to find in January!
Save £500
Another no. Not only was January a low-spend month, but it was also a low-income month. Initially, I wasn’t going to work over my birthday anyway but when I came back from my travels, our home internet didn’t work for about a week. It’s only in the last couple of days that I’ve managed to get any work done!
Update my business services page
This was a high-priority task for me but it can’t have been that important because I didn’t complete it! It will get done in February because now I have the time to actually do it.
Have weekly writing sessions
I’m not sure why I added this to my goals for January because my schedule was all over the place. Blogging fell to the wayside because of my crazy month but I did get some content planning done as well as setting up a new writing routine throughout the week.
Set up my winter capsule wardrobe
DONE! This was a definite success as I’ve been living in it for about a month now. Winter is always a fun time of year for my wardrobe because I get to dig out some of my favourite long-sleeved tops, jumpers, and sweatshirts that I’ve not seen for a while.
Post 4 weekly photo dumps to Instagram
DONE! I snuck this one in very last minute as I only posted my final photo dump late yesterday afternoon. Whilst they’re not as photographic as other influencers, it’s been fun to put together a few of my favourite pictures and screenshots from the week.
Read 10 books
I read a bit in January but not as much as I wanted to (only 5 books). My evening routine was successful with reading before bed but not every single night. I need to up my game if I’m going to reach 100 for the year!
Celebrate my 30th birthday!
I had a very low-key birthday, including a pub visit with my mum, nanna, and auntie, a day at Meadowhall with my parents, and then a solo trip to London for a couple of days. I’m not a party person so it was nice to just celebrate it for a few days and then accept that I’m a proper adult now!

FEBRUARY GOALS
Now that January is wrapped on, let’s look forward to my 10 goals for February 2023.
Reach biz income goal
This is the biggest goal for me in February. As I said above, January wasn’t a great month for me income-wise so I have to make up for that. I have lots of travel to book so I need to make more money to pay for it all!
Save £150
Because it will be a heavy-spend month on travel, I’ve set my savings goal lower than usual. I’d rather spend money in advance when it comes to travel so I can save in the lead-up to trips. £150 is still better than nothing!
Low-spend month (other than travel + shopping treat day)
Despite what I said above, I still want to have a low-spend month. I’ve set up my budget to include a larger travel spend for advance booking as well as my trip to Manchester mid-month. If I want to increase my income, I’ll probably cut back on my spending to have a larger profit!
Update biz website
I’ve decided to carry this forward again from January as I’m having a rethink of my business services. My website is due a little update anyway so I’ll be reviewing my homepage, About page, and services page. Hopefully, I’ll be able to add a testimonial or portfolio page too.
Blog every day
This is the biggest challenge I’ve set for myself this month, along with my income goal. Because I have four websites, I’m spreading it across them. That means 28 blog posts in 28 days. It’s a lot but I’m excited to challenge myself to not only come up with ideas but also write for fun!
4 weekly IG photo dumps
Once again, I want to continue to post on Instagram. It’s a bit disheartening to see how few likes I’ve got on the four posts I did in January. However, Instagram is one of those apps that the more energy you put into it, the more you get out of it.
Book March travel
I’m planning on going back to London in March as well as a day trip to Sheffield (and back to London on the 1st April for Ariana DeBose’s concert!). I’ve got parts of each trip booked but not everything (trains, hotel, shows).
Track healthy habits daily
This is something that I’ve really been trying to focus on in the last week or so. Now I’m 30, my metabolism is not the same as it was when I was 20. If I want to be fit and healthy, I actually have to work towards that. Bummer! Some of the habits that I want to track are:
- Getting fresh air 5 days a week
- Averaging 7k steps a day over the month
- Working out 3x a week
- Trying 4 new recipes this month
- Continuing to up my fruit and veg intake
- Drinking a minimum of 2l water daily
Try 4 new eateries
Again, I’ve added this to February because, with my trips, I’m hoping to try new places. I’d also like to work out of the house for two days this month in Hull so I’ll aim to try a new cafe on each visit. Let me know your recommendations for Hull, Sheffield, and central London, preferably cheap-ish eats, cafes, and coffee shops!
Read 10 books
Oh look, another goal I’m aiming for again. I did read a bit in January but I’d like to up my page count too. I’m thinking 50 pages a day minimum should help me on my way to reading 10 books in February.
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for February 2023. I’m excited to have a bit of a New Year restart feel to Feb as January was a bit all over the place. February is basically the new New Year for many of us to refocus and work on our goals!
