Since setting up my yearly goals a few days ago, I still wanted to make monthly goals. Whilst yearly goals are important to me, I like to see progress, which is more likely with monthly goals. My list of monthly goals will be broken down from my 2022 goals as I aim to have a year of as much fun as possible. Let’s crack on with my 10 goals for January 2022 then!
Save £500
Whilst I do want to save £10,000 during 2022, I also know that January is a big month spending wise for me. I have my birthday, dentist and opticians appointments and planning my trips for the year. £500 will be a great starting point as I know which account/pot each £1 will be going!
Have 20 no-spend days
Today, I was meant to be starting my five-day London trip but instead decided to cancel it. Currently, I don’t feel safe travelling that far nor do I have enough money to really enjoy my trip. Five days in and I’ve had 3 no-spend days so far and today is looking positive too! 20 is enough to still save money but without feeling too restrictive.
eBay everything!
Within my two wardrobes, one of them is actually full of clothes to sell. There must be about 100 items in there! I really need to get everything on eBay and get it out of the house. If it doesn’t sell in the next couple of months, it’s going to the charity shop. I want to convert that wardrobe into a cupboard to store toiletries, blankets and a bit of stationery!
Finish 2 chapters of eBook
Now is the time to crack on with some creative writing. I think because I write for a living for other businesses, I can never be bothered to do it for myself. This eBook has been in the making for around a year now and I’ve made little progress with it. 2022 is when I make it happen! 2 chapters is a good amount to aim for so here comes the first draft!
Update SEO on 8 old blog posts
There is no way I’ll ever find the time to sit down and update the SEO on my website for every blog post in one sitting. By choosing a target of 8, that means two a week, which seems more manageable. Finding some time in an evening or over the weekend when I’m not doing anything productive is my idea to get it done!
Fill in journals and habit tracker daily
Habits are something that I really want to focus on in 2022 and celebrating small wins is what I’m here for. I’ve downloaded a habit tracker app to track my progress as well as two journals. I want to jot down my feelings every morning and evening to empty my brain and see what I’ve achieved later down the line.
Finalise winter capsule wardrobe
Having culled my wardrobe, I’m now left with what I really love. Now I need to pack away my summery clothes and pick my favourites for winter. It will mostly consist of comfy clothing as I work from home but with a couple of dressy pieces in there for events. The idea is to run it from now until the end of March, review it and then set up for spring!
Watch 8 musical DVDs
To get through my entire musicals DVD collection, I have to watch around two a week. I’m still deciding in what order to watch them in: alphabetically, year of release or at random. Shall I put all the names in a jar and pick them out one by one?
Read 8 books
One down, seven more to go. Reading before bed is a major habit I want to reintroduce so hopefully it will get me through 8 books in January. I try to read on weekend mornings too to give myself a relaxing time! I’d like to read a mixture of fiction and non-fiction too so any recommendations are welcome!
Use Duolingo daily
Six days in and I’ve not missed a day yet! Learning French again is a goal for mine for the year and I’m loving it so far. It feels a bit repetitive so far but that’s how you remember things!
And that completes my 10 goals for January 2022. I’m trying to focus less on work and more on life this year so having more fun is where I’m at! If you fancy being accountability buddies, send me a DM on Twitter or Instagram and we can keep each other on track!
