Can you believe it? We’re halfway through 2022 already! Does anyone else feel like July is a good time to hit the reset button? The first half of 2022 was a bit of a rollercoaster for me so I’m excited to give the second half more of a push. Right now, I feel motivated and determined but we’re only on day 1! Let’s crack on with my 10 goals for July 2022 then, with a look back at June’s goals first.
JUNE GOALS
Before I get into my 10 goals for July 2022, I’ll start by recapping my June goals.
Plan content for June onwards
DONE. Whilst I didn’t plan any June content, I have got my content plan for July all sorted! That’s across three blogs as well as my business website. The second half of 2022 looks set to be busy but I want to get the fun back into my writing.
Plan/book stagey trips for the rest of the year
DONE. Another success. Whilst I haven’t booked everything yet, I have everything planned until the end of the year (unless more press nights come in). I’m really proud to say that I’ve booked THREE London press nights in advance for November/December so that’s very exciting for me!
Start health plan 2.0
FAIL. I’ve had a total lack of motivation recently when it comes to health and fitness. Hopefully, I can take some baby steps in July towards any improvement!
Get back into my skincare routine twice a day
DONE. I’ve been sticking to a VERY simple skincare routine (micellar water, hyaluronic acid and moisturiser) and it seems to be working. I have tonnes of products but I’m too lazy to use them all.
Have a blog maintenance weekend
FAIL. I just had too much other stuff going on this month so this is being delayed a little while longer.
Set up for Q3/rest of 2022
DONE. After a lacklustre first half, I’m determined to make the second half at least a little bit better! I’ve managed to sit down, plan some stuff out and set some bigger goals to achieve. I will achieve them!
Have a digital declutter day
DONE. I cleared my phone of unwanted photos, tidied my external hard drive and had a clean-up of my Google Drive. Moreso, I had a digital detox last weekend because the news got too heavy and I needed a break.
Have a bedroom declutter
DONE. I managed to get rid of 15 clothing items, 3 pairs of pyjamas, 1 pair of shoes, 21 make-up products and 10 items of jewellery. Also, I’ve got 36 pieces of clothing to sell online as well as 3 pairs of shoes. When I declutter, I DECLUTTER!
Set up my summer capsule wardrobe
DONE. Usually, I hate dressing for summer but I managed to set a capsule that I’m happy with. With a couple of new additions, it’ll be as good as I can get it!
Write my to-do list the night before
DONE. You wouldn’t believe how much time you can save when you write your to-do list the night before. Whilst I don’t get everything done, it does mean that I know what I need to focus on. It means I can crack on with my day straight away too.
JUNE RECAP
8 – Number of TV series watched
1 – Number of films watched
3 – Number of theatre trips (Fantastically Great Women – review coming soon, Les Miserables and Legally Blonde – review coming tomorrow)
2 – Number of blog posts written
3 – Number of empties
15 – Number of no-spend days
4 – Number of books read
593 – Number of pages read
JULY GOALS
Now June has been recapped and reviewed, now it’s time to look forward. Here is a closer look at my 10 goals for July 2022.
Write July content for all three blogs
The plan is in place for July so now the content just needs writing! I can’t write some posts in advance as they’re theatre reviews (obvs) but a lot of the blog posts can be written in advance. This is across three websites too so it’s a lot of content!
Plan August content
Once July is finished, I want to get ahead with August too! Summer can be a quieter time for freelancers so I will definitely be glad to have something else to keep me busy!
Plan Q3 business content
Like I said above, finding something to do in the summer to get more work is a necessity. I’ve not posted consistently on my social media channels for a while so it’s something I want to reintegrate. In July, I want to sit down and plan my content, both socials and blog, for my business for the entire quarter.
Rewrite services page for my business (+ up my prices!)
Again, quieter times in business can be filled with other stuff. One of those tasks for me is to rewrite my services page. I’ve currently got packages that no longer serve me or my clients. The plan is to niche to solely blog post writing so the page needs updating! I’ll also be raising my prices in September so I also need to figure out the pricing!
Book stagey trips for August/September/October
July is all booked up so I want to get ahead with the rest of the year. I’m setting up a Monzo pot for my side hustles and round-ups, which will once again be my 2022 travel fund! Lots of shows, trains and hotels to pay for!
Take baby steps to improve my health + fitness
When it comes to my health and fitness, I seem to have this all-or-nothing approach. I also seem to think that I can go from zero exercises to working out daily. That is probably not going to happen ever again. My challenge to myself is to try to move daily for at least 10 minutes. I can either go out for a walk or work out at home.
Reach my financial goal for the month
I’ve set my financial goal for the quarter so basically just divided it by three. After a quiet start to the year, I’m more determined to make the second half much more successful. Better get started then, hadn’t I?
Save 20% of every invoice for my tax pot
The not-so-fun side of running a business is paying your taxes! Last year, I paid my tax bill early so the aim is to beat that date slightly, with a view to paying it earlier every year. In Q3, I want to put 20% of every invoice into my tax pot so it’s ready to pay in no time!
Find small joys in every single day
It sounds silly but I’m always looking at the bigger picture and not the day-to-day baby steps. I need to start appreciating small wins a little more as it all adds up in the end. July will be all about recording small joys every day and then looking back on them at the end of the month!
Follow the Euros as much as possible
Usually, I hate international football but women’s football has really engaged me in the past two years. As an Arsenal fan, following the Lionesses is a must. Leah Williamson is captain, Wubben-Moy and Parris will rotate in the squad and Beth Mead is my absolute fave player (her being from Whitby definitely helps too). However, I’ll be watching as many games across the tournament as possible!
And there you have it, my 10 goals for July 2022 are complete. I’m feeling really pumped to get started with them as June was a fairly decent month. I want to carry that progress forward into July, Q3 and the rest of the year!
