So we’re a few days late but I’m going to blame the extended Bank Holiday for that one. Is anyone else completely confused about what day it is still? Anyway, May is over and done with and it’s time for my 10 goals for June 2022.
MAY GOALS
No-spend month
I started off the month pretty well, with just one theatre trip and a day working out of the house. However, in the middle of the month, I went off-track. I made a lot of clothing purchases because I am swayed by voucher codes, loyalty points and new collections. Towards the end of May, I also got set up for June, which meant buying a couple of theatre and train tickets!
Follow Blogilates calendar for the month
Definite no. I’m just finding it really hard to stay motivated and move my body.
Get outside three times a week
I’m not sure I got outside three times a week but I feel like I did leave the house a little more. That was mostly due to theatre trips and nail appointments!
Watch 5 musical films/DVDs
Read in the stats for May later to see which ones I watched. Five musicals in one month! I managed to get through a Disney Channel trilogy one Friday night with a takeaway, which was a real highlight!
Get back into a routine + focus on habits
Again, I’m not sure if I did this or not. I’ve decided that slower mornings seem to be working for me so I stay in bed for a little too long now.
Write 1 client blog post every weekday (or 5 a week)
May was pretty bad for client work, losing another client and another ghosting me. Oh the joys of freelance life, eh?
Write for ‘fun’ daily
I sort of fell out of love with writing last month, probably because I was basically burnt out. Sometimes, you just need a little rest!
Blog 3 times a week
I managed 7 blog posts last month, which is about 2 a week. Not quite there but close enough. June is all about planning for me so hopefully, I’ll get more consistent.
Set up content calendars for May/June
As I said above, I had a plan but just didn’t have the energy to write. Those posts (if appropriate) have now been moved to June.
Spend 30 minutes a day on Duolingo
I’ve got addicted to Duolingo. Mon francais est magnifique et je suis intelligente. Merci beaucoup.

JUNE GOALS
Now that May is done and dusted with, let’s get onto June. Here are my 10 goals for June 2022.
Plan content for June onwards
I’m hoping the second half of 2022 means I have a better work-blog balance. That’s why I want to get organised in advance with my content plans. Running potentially four websites of my own plus all of my client work means that planning is a must!
Plan/book stagey trips for the rest of the year
You’ll have noticed that The English Everygirl has gone down more of a theatre review route with a sprinkling of other posts. This is something I want to continue so want to plan the rest of the year. Now I’ve got June booked, it’s time to look to July and beyond.
Start health plan 2.0
After my last attempt, I’m going to have another go but try to be a bit gentler on myself. I beat myself up when I don’t reach my goals so I’d like to try being nicer to myself. The aim is to move daily, drink lots of water and cook more.
Get back into my skincare routine twice a day
Another thing I’ve let slide recently is my skincare routine. I’ve got lots of products that sit there unused and my skin isn’t looking too great right now. I’d like to keep it simple for my daily routines but maybe add in a bit of a pamper session on Sunday nights again.
Have a blog maintenance weekend
By blog maintenance, I mean updating some old posts, formatting headings/photos and maybe redoing my categories and pages a little. Whilst updating old posts takes time, I want to sit down on one weekend and just get a bunch of blog-min done in one go!
Set up for Q3/rest of 2022
When I started my business, I was big on monthly/quarterly planning but in 2022, I’ve let it slide a bit. After having an average start to the first half of 2022, I’m determined to see a bit more progress in the second half. That requires a lot of reflecting and reviewing first before setting some goals for the quarter and the rest of the year.
Have a digital declutter day
So currently, my Google Drive, Asana and external hard drive are a bit of a mess. It’s a struggle to find so many images and documents. If I force myself to sit down and get them all organised, it might not take me 30 minutes to find something in future!
Have a bedroom declutter
Similarly to the above, my chest of drawers and wardrobes need a bit of a summer cleaning. That means scheduling a day or weekend to go through what I own and getting rid of things I no longer like or need.
Set up my summer capsule wardrobe
Following on from my declutter, that will make it much easier to set up my summer capsule wardrobe. I did well with my spring one so I’m continuing. It will require a bit of a review of spring’s items and creating a wishlist for summer. I hate summer dressing because I just live in joggers and jeans mostly!
Write my to-do list the night before
This is a key habit for me in June. As I work on the organisation of my life in general, I’ve noticed that I’ve got into a bad habit of wasting time in the morning setting up for the day. By writing my to-do list the night before for the following day, I’ll be able to jump into my work day almost right away!
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for June 2022. As you can see, it’s an organisation-heavy, ‘get my life back on track’ kind of month but sometimes, they’re the best months! How about keeping up with my daily life on Twitter and Instagram? I’m hoping to share more on Instagram this month too as I fell out of love with it a little.
