How are we nearly at the halfway point of 2024? I won’t lie, May was a real struggle for me, especially with money and motivation. However, I’m hoping to use June as a bit of a refresh my life month so let’s get stuck in. Here’s my 10 goals for June 2024 but let’s recap May first.
MAY GOALS RECAP
Get a job or a new client
Fail. I’ve applied for literally hundreds of jobs and I’m not getting anywhere. I’ve also applied for some freelance roles as well as full-time jobs so I’m open to anything really. I do have one interview this week as well as one next week too so who knows?
Complete a 31 day challenge
Another fail. I’ve been tracking my habits properly for the past month and have really worked on everything, apart from exercise. I’m eating more veg, drinking more water, doing more self care and reading much more. However, I’m still not moving my body that much!
Find a blogging routine
Fail. I had a schedule and didn’t stick to it. Oh well, we try again next month.
Read 6 books
Another fail. I managed four books so not a complete disaster but still not a complete goal!
Try 2 new coffee shops/cafes
Fail. I barely left the house unless absolutely necessary. I’ll try this another time.
Cook 2 new recipes
Another fail. I’ve definitely cooked more than ever before but I go to my tried-and-tested recipes every time.
Make use of my standing desk on weekdays
Fail. I did do this on some days but not every weekday. It’s a struggle because it’s hard to write standing up and that’s what most of my work is!
Go to the opticians
DONE! I went right at the start of May and whilst my glasses are ready, my prescription sunglasses are not. There’s been a problem with the lenses so hopefully, they will be ready this week.
Redo business packages
Sort of. I’ve not updated my website but I have posted a graphic with my new blog post packages and prices.
Stick to May budget
DONE! I only spent about half of what I’d planned on spending so yay me!

10 GOALS FOR JUNE 2024
Get a job or a new client
This will continuously be a goal until I achieve it. Like I said earlier, I’ve been applying for a mixture of full-time roles and freelance stuff as I’m happy to do either right now. Ideally, I want a remote role where the main focus is on writing as that’s my best skill. However, roles in Hull require a general marketing specialist mostly so I’d have to use more skills.
Get back to proper Sunday resets
I’ve been a little lacklustre with Sunday resets over the last few weeks so I want to get back into doing them properly. I love to use Sunday mornings to get my life together so then I have the afternoon to chill out (usually to watch sports). I’m talking about planning my week, updating my budget and cleaning the house.
Read 8 books
This seems like a lofty goal, considering I only managed four books in May. However, I’ve really got into my reading groove again, reading most nights before bed. If I want to get through eight books, I’ll probably have to read on my dinner break though!
Workout or walk every day
If I’m entering my healthy girl era, moving my body more is the next step. Ideally, I want to go for a walk or workout at home every single day. However, I hate walking around my local village (very judgey people who hate young people). I just need to bite the bullet, stick in my headphones and go for a walk.
1 hour standing desk every weekday
The whole point of getting a standing desk was to stand at it more. By using it for about an hour a day, I might end up standing for longer. Because I try to get my heavy brain work done in a morning, it’ll probably be an afternoon activity.
Stick to daily healthy habits 80% of the time
Instead of saying I want to complete every habit every single day, I’m trying to be more graceful with myself. By choosing 80%, it allows me to have the odd day off for each habit. I want to focus on my water intake, moving my body, prioritising sleep and reading, and eating a more balanced diet. You know, the usual habits but if I don’t track them properly, my health will go to shit.
Save for Manchester trip
I’m off to Manchester at the end of June to see Aladdin the Musical and Lea Salonga live in concert and I want to go shopping. I’ve got a clothes wishlist, especially for Uniqlo and M&S, and Manchester is much better to shop in than Hull. My plan is to travel on the Sunday and spend Monday morning at the Trafford Centre and then a few hours in the city centre in the afternoon. It’s one of my favourite places to go so I’m excited!
Update business website
This is top of my list of priorities for June. My focus is on the services page and then the homepage because I cocked that up last month. I’m still debating whether I just want to focus on blog posts or go back to blog-email-socials packages. I might put both on there to begin with and see what people prefer to go with.
Stick to TEE blog schedule
I need to work on my blog schedule much more this month and make sure that TEE is my priority. I’ve decided to push myself and post five posts a week Monday to Friday and then take the weekend off to write next week’s posts. Some posts can definitely be written in advance to give me more time to write press night reviews the day after.
Find a content routine that works for me
With that in mind, I need to work on getting into a routine with writing my content for both my blog and for my business. I want to get away from writing a post up and immediately pressing publish. Writing multiple posts in one go is a better use of my time but with applying for jobs, writing for clients and going for interviews, it can be hard to find the time!
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for June 2024. May was a bit of a struggle but hopefully, the improving weather works to improve my mood too! If anyone wants to be my accountability buddy, please let me know!
