Autumn is here finally! Well, technically not until the 23rd but I’m so over the summer. Autumn/winter is my time to shine and I always prefer the cosiness over the heat. September always feels like a fresh start, probably from that back-to-school time, despite not being in some form of education since 2018. Let’s crack on with my 10 goals for September 2022 and reflect on August first!
AUGUST GOALS
Before I get into my 10 goals for September 2022, let’s have a quick look back at how I did with my August goals.
Get back into Instagram
Whilst I posted a little, it wasn’t as much as I was expecting to. I was hoping to document my London trip but actually, it was refreshing to not be constantly snapping and filming and just be in the moment! There’s always next month.
Rethink my morning/evening routines
DONE. Whilst I don’t do my full routines every single day, I’ve managed to create a shorter routine for every day. Now I can build on this and extend it if I want to. My alarm is set for 7am every morning but I do sometimes have a lie-in!
Keep a health/wellbeing journal
Another no for me because I wasn’t quite ready to commit because of a hectic month. Instead, I was using my habit tracker app most days, which is a great way to visually see how you’re doing!
Write 3 blog posts a week on this blog
I only published two during the month and now have several theatre reviews half-written. My task for the next week or so is to get them finished and published! Maybe September will be more consistent for my blog?
No-spend month
I’m quite annoyed with myself this month because I spent way too much money. My trips ended up being pretty spendy, meaning I ran out of money at the end of the month.
Reset my organisational routines
Again, this is one that I’ve attempted but not quite completed. I’ve been writing my to-do lists the night before, tracking some of my time as well as making use of Asana. However, I haven’t done any weekly or monthly reviews so I’ll do that this weekend!
Do my skincare routine AM + PM
Whilst I haven’t been thorough every single day, I’ve stuck to them for the most part. However, I’ve switched cleanser after 3 weeks because I think my previous one was too harsh for my sensitive skin. I’m intrigued by Byoma’s products so when I’ve used up my current stash, that’s my next purchase!
Sort out my office
DONE. I shared a couple of Instagram Stories over the Bank Holiday weekend. It probably didn’t look too much of a change but I switched around my fake Raskog cart (I have this one but in rose gold) and got rid of a few items that no longer worked (I’m a pen hoarder). A simple refresh can do wonders for your productivity!
Get uploading to eBay/Vinted
DONE. I’ve uploaded a bunch of stuff to Vinted but it seems that people want something for nothing nowadays! If these items haven’t gone by the end of September, I’m sending them to a charity shop.
Start a lifestyle challenge
Attempted and then life got in the way. The aim is now to start it up next week or wait until I come back from London.
AUGUST RECAP
7 – Number of TV series watched (DCC:MTT s13, SVU s4+21, 9-1-1 Lone Star s1+2, The OC s3+4)
3 – Number of theatre trips (Sister Act, Six and My Fair Lady – all in the West End, reviews to follow this week!)
2 – Number of blog posts written (10 Goals for August 2022 and Fantastically Great Women review)
3 – Number of empties
11 – Number of no-spend days
100 – Number of pages read
SEPTEMBER GOALS
Now that August is over and done with, I’m so ready for September. Autumn is the season for me so here are my 10 goals for September 2022.
Low-spend month
Other than my London trip and renewing my 26-30 railcard, I don’t have any other unexpected expenses in September. I’m not saying I won’t spend any money as I want to work in a coffee shop for a couple of days this month but I don’t plan on any other ‘fun’ spending.
Drink 2-3 litres of water daily
I’ve been feeling a bit lethargic lately and I think it’s because I haven’t been drinking enough. I’ve been getting about 1-2l a day but I find my sweet spot is between 2-3l. Does it mean I spend half of my day peeing? Absolutely but my skin thanks me for it!
Implement content plans for business
September is the month that I hit the reset button on most of my life but especially my business. Ideally, I’d like to get back to weekly blog posts and posting 3 times a week on Instagram, with intermitted IG Stories in there too. Some people rely on IG too much when they could spend half of that time actually doing work!
Get a new biz client
My income has taken a little bit of a hit over the summer so building that back up is my main aim for September. By aiming for just one new client, it makes it seem a little more achievable!
Weekly planning and review
My planning routine has been sporadic during 2022 so far and I want to get it back on track. Sunday evenings used to be my reflection and planning time but then I switched to a Friday. I might try to do some rough planning on a Friday before being more thorough on a Sunday.
Update my biz website
With a business reset comes changes. I’m upping my prices as of tomorrow and need to update my packages on my website too. It’s about time I increased my prices, which means changing my services pages. First, I need to get rid of the old packages on there and write up a new landing page.
Set up Notion
I’ve been loyal to Asana for a while now but I love trying out a shiny new toy. Notion looks exciting and whilst I have a profile and a handful of pages set up, it’s basically unused. Everyone raves about it but it’s just finding the time to sit down and get it organised.
Read 8 books
My reading goals have been lacking this year because I just fell out of love with it and missed my evening routine. Now I feel a little more settled, it’s time to get back on the reading horse, so to speak. 8 books = 2 a week, that seems doable!
Follow Project 50 challenge
I was meant to start this in August but in all honesty, I didn’t feel quite myself or up for it. My September plans include one London trip so I either have to start my Project 50 on Monday 5th or wait until I’m back on Tuesday 20th! Follow along on my third Instagram account, The Realistic Minimalist!
Set up Autumn capsule wardrobe
My summer capsule was all set up but the weather was a lot warmer than I was used to. That meant adding in items constantly (new and already owned), which defeats the point of a capsule wardrobe. With autumn, I’m hoping to stick to it as best I can!
That’s a wrap on my 10 goals for September 2022. Keep me accountable by following me on Twitter and Instagram. You have permission to hold me accountable!
