As I write this on Wednesday evening, I’m still in such a good mood. Most of you know that I’m a huge sports fan and Sunday night was one of the most exciting nights I’ve ever experienced. I’ll be doing a blog post about it all this week but the Lionesses becoming European champions has to be just the beginning for women in sport. Anyway, let’s get stuck into my 10 goals for August 2022.
JULY GOALS
Before we go into my 10 goals for August 2022, let’s recap July’s goals and see how I got on with them.
Write July content for all three blogs
I got so busy with work that my blogs took a backseat. Unfortunately, I’d planned the month out but I didn’t have the chance to write anything in advance. The number one rule of blogging is to get as much content drafted in advance as possible!
Plan August content
I’ve half done this as I’ve just delayed some posts. I’m not quite sure about my schedule just yet so I’m not announcing anything about it just yet!
Plan Q3 business content
Again, I’m still feeling discouraged with my business marketing so I don’t know what I’m going to do. I think I’ll take the summer off to have a rethink and have a bit of a relaunch in September. It will be my 2nd biz birthday then too!
Rewrite services page for my business (+ up my prices!)
Once again, another no. But like I said above, I’m going to spend some time brainstorming my next business steps. That will definitely include upping my prices but also what I actually want to do.
Book stagey trips for August/September/October
Sort of done. I’m getting really put off booking trips in advance because of the train strikes (I’m all in favour of them though!). I’ve got two London trips booked, one for August and one for September, but other than that, I’ve avoided everything else!
Take baby steps to improve my health + fitness
Another major fail. I have no energy yet I’m doing nothing about it! Now is the time to focus on looking after myself because I’m nearly 30 and feel like crap most of the time!
Reach my financial goal for the month
I didn’t quite get there but I did have my busiest month of 2022 so far. I’m still not quite at the income level that I’d like but I’m slowly getting there!
Save 20% of every invoice for my tax pot
I did do this but then life happened. Okay, that’s a lie. I spent it on hotels for London and Manchester! The tax man can wait!
Find small joys in every single day
I’m trying to embrace slower living but life just feels like a struggle right now. Whilst I don’t feel like I’m in a bad place, I feel like life is a little stagnant right now. Summer feels like a time to reset everything and get my life back on track.
Follow the Euros as much as possible
This I did complete! I watched all but a couple of matches and now I feel like I have a daily void! I’m not sure I’ll ever get over the win to be quite honest!
JULY RECAP
7 – Number of TV series watched (The Rookie s3+4, The OC s2, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team s16, SVU s18-20)
3 – Number of films watched (Camp Rock 1+2 and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging – a classic)
1 – Number of theatre trips (Singin’ in the Rain @ Bradford Alhambra Theatre)
3 – Number of blog posts written (10 Goals for July 2022, The Sunday Diaries 014 and What I’ve Watched in 2022 So Far)
2 – Number of empties
15 – Number of no-spend days
3 – Number of books read
446 – Number of pages read
AUGUST GOALS
August feels like a fresh start. Normally, I’d say that for September but because I’m no longer in education, I can pull it forward a month. Here are my 10 goals for August 2022.
Get back into Instagram
I know we’re all having a love/hate relationship with Instagram right now, which is why I want to start posting like in the olden days. During my London trip, I want to just post some candid shots of my travels and continue that afterwards.
Rethink my morning/evening routines
Mornings have turned incredibly lazy and evenings have turned into ‘let’s watch one more episode’. I’m hoping to refresh them and make them a little more mindful. In the morning, I want to work out and journal and in the evening, I want to stretch, journal and read. They’re not going to be complicated but a little more fulfilling than what I’m doing now.
Keep a health/wellbeing journal
Because I’ve been feeling so crappy, I want to see if I can change that. My health and wellbeing planner allows for a 12-week plan so I might start again when I’m back from London next week.
Write 3 blog posts a week on this blog
Whilst I debate my other blogs, I still want to keep this one alive. Luckily, I have a couple of theatre reviews from the past couple of months still to post as well as the handful of shows I’ll be seeing in August.
No-spend month
Other than my travels, I shall be having a no-spend month. I’m so skint and my income is tight. That means that ‘fun’ spending is minimal. I’d love some new clients so I’ll be focusing on making more money, rather than spending it!
Reset my organisational routines
Whilst I’m big on organisation, one of the reasons I’ve felt so rubbish this year is that I’ve felt disorganised. I used to review my week/month, plan my days out the night before and track my working days. For some reason, I’ve let that slide and I want to get back to it!
Do my skincare routine AM + PM
I recently went to a new dermaplaning specialist and she’s set me up on a new skincare routine. Whilst I’m not using the exact products she recommended just yet (I have a backstock of other skincare to use up first), I have tried to keep it as close to her as possible. That just means sticking to it day and night!
Sort out my office
Our third bedroom is part-office, part-junk room and part-spare wardrobe. Whilst I can’t go through every item, I can declutter my own stuff! The shelves are looking a bit cluttered and my stationery trolley is a mess.
Get uploading to eBay/Vinted
I’ve got tonnes of clothes to put on eBay/Vinted and once again, I’ve procrastinated. I could do with the extra cash so I really need to get it done! I’ll share my links on Instagram when I’ve uploaded the items!
Start a lifestyle challenge
Previous attempts haven’t been a success so it’s bound to work at some point, right? I’ve seen 30-day challenges, Project 50 and 90-day versions too. I just need to look into which habits I’d like to focus on so I can put my best foot forward.
August feels like a real fresh start and I’m feeling pretty motivated to make some changes. Hopefully, that motivation doesn’t fade away! If you enjoyed my 10 goals for August 2022, read my other ‘goals’ posts right here. To keep up with my life, follow me on Twitter and Instagram!
