Crikey, February was a lot, wasn’t it? I don’t know about you but I had some great times but some crap times too. I’m also ending the month/starting March with a really bad chill that I caught in Manchester (my own fault for not wearing a thick enough coat). Here’s to a better month now with my 10 goals for March 2023.
FEBRUARY GOALS
Before I get into my 10 goals for March 2023, let’s reflect on my February goals. You’ll see that it was pretty much a disaster across the board.
Reach biz income goal
Whilst I didn’t reach my goal at all (literally, not even close), I did earn more than in January. Baby steps, people, baby steps.
Save £150
Another no but I did save something. That’s better than nothing!
Low-spend month (other than travel + shopping treat day)
Considering I didn’t make much money this month, it also meant I had little to spend. I’ve not spent that little since the pandemic, probably half what I’d usually spend! It even included my Manchester trip, where I resisted buying any clothing.
Update biz website
Another no. Sometimes, you’re just not in the right headspace. I think I’ll probably complete this in March, especially in the lead-up to Q2.
Blog every day
Oops, another no. I barely blogged at all. Again, life happens and sometimes, you just can’t be bothered.
4 weekly IG photo dumps
My life was so dull in February that every photo would just have been either a view of my desk or in bed. Other than the Kelsea Ballerini concert in Manchester, I only left the house to run errands.
Book March travel
Again, I’ve not done this and have decided to cancel my trip. I was meant to be in London next weekend as well as at the end of March. I might still go on the second trip but it’s costing about £300 for just two nights, just in a Travelodge or Premier Inn. Then another £50-100 for train tickets. A short city break is no longer a cheap holiday!
Track healthy habits daily
I was doing this fairly well before my trip and then, I got sick. Eating healthier, having lots of water, moving my body, and taking my vitamins every day. I just need this chill to shift so I can get back on track with it!
Try 4 new eateries
Another no. As I said, I only ate out in Manchester, where I had Pizza Hut and Yangtze Chinese food, both of which I’ve had many times before.
Read 10 books
A massive no. I only managed two and really couldn’t get into the reading mood.
FEBRUARY RECAP
6 – TV series watched (Chicago Fire s3+4, FBI International s1, Law & Order SVU s19+20, and FBI Most Wanted s1)
3 – Films watched (Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Known, Sondheim’s Old Friends Concert, and On Broadway documentary)
3 – Blog posts written (10 Goals for February 2023, How To Get Out Of A Funk, and 14 Ways To Romanticise Your Life Every Day)
17 – No-spend days
3 – Empties
2 – Books read (Maximise 365 – Kristin Sherry, Upgrade Yourself – Thibaut Meurisse)
386 – Pages read
MARCH GOALS
Is anyone else treating March like a New Year? January and February were just trial runs before we get started with spring. Let me know if you’re having a bit of a refresh too, let’s do it together! Here’s a look at my 10 goals for March 2023.
Stick to time-blocking and themed days
I feel like I’ve had a lot of free time in February, yet I’ve barely had any time to myself. I’m going back to theming my days and trying time-blocking again. Getting back to my old ways should help me to stay motivated and productive.
Go on a solo cinema date
It’s been forever since I’ve been to the cinema so I’d like to change that this year. However, you also now have to take out an overdraft to afford to go. Luckily, if you go on a weekday afternoon, it tends to be a little cheaper! I’ve no idea what I’ll be watching, just that I want to take an afternoon off!
Track my daily word count
This may seem a bit silly but I want to see when and where I write best, as well as what writing I do every day. This sort of goes hand in hand with time blocking and themed days but March is definitely a month to focus on work and blogging for me!
Do some spring cleaning
We couldn’t go into the spring season without some cleaning and decluttering! Whilst I do a weekly and monthly clean, there’s something even more refreshing about having a proper spring clean. Obviously, not everything needs cleaning frequently so it’s the perfect time to do those niggly tasks that only need to be done once/twice a year. I’ll also have a massive digital declutter because my external hard drive is looking a bit of a hot mess!
Get outdoors three times a week
This doesn’t seem like a lot but with working from home, it’s too easy to become a hermit. I get out most Saturdays to do the food shop but I’d like to work out of the house one day a week as well as go on a walk around the village. That takes me up to three a week!
Read 4 books
I’ve definitely fallen out of love with reading lately, only managing seven books so far in 2023. One a week seems manageable and I’d like to start reading more chick lit before spring starts. I tend to reach for non-fiction books on productivity but I’d like to switch it up!
Get back to posting on my business channels
I’ve 100% let my own marketing slide in 2023, despite having big plans for it! If I want to build more clients into my business, I have to let them know I exist! That means posting probably three times a week on Instagram and once a week on my website blog.
Start planning for Q2
I’ve no idea what Q2 is going to look like. I thought I’d be doing a lot of travelling and watching a lot of theatre shows but everything is just so expensive right now! I’ll have to sit down with my calendar, plan out a general plan and work out what my content will look like around that!
Focus on daily priorities + healthy habits
Once again, I want to focus more on myself and my health. It’s something I’ve wanted to work on for a while but as I said earlier, March feels like a fresh start (again). All we’re talking about is moving my body more, eating better, less snacking, doing my skincare daily, and generally looking after myself better!
Restart Project Me
This is my version of #Project50 but with adapted rules. There’s no way I can go from zero to working out for an hour every single day! It’s basically just a challenge including the above healthy habits but with a bunch of habits to stack in general! Daily Duolingo, reading, and writing are key for me!
