Did anyone else find November completely draining? I set so many good intentions for the month but ultimately found myself seriously lacking in motivation to do anything really! I’m hoping by setting myself some December 2020 goals, I might be able to make myself do something at least.
I’m aiming to get as many of these goals done before Friday 18th because I’m desperate to take two weeks off for Christmas and New Year. I’ll still be doing the odd bits during that break but I just need a proper reset and relax before 2021 is my best year yet!
Post three times a week to TEE blog
I really want to end 2020 on a positive note for my blog. By setting a goal of blogging three times a week, I’m hoping I can get into a routine. For me, the hardest part is photography so that’s something I need to improve on in 2021 (maybe get a new camera?).
I’m hoping to keep a mix of minimalism, money and organisation to the blog but it’s Christmas and a new year so expect the usual round-ups and goal-setting posts. Fingers crossed that theatre will be a big part of The English Everygirl in 2021 too! I miss it dearly! Please let me know if you want more of a particular topic from me though. I’m always up for suggestions!
Post once a week on CBS blog
I managed to keep this up throughout November so I’m determined to keep going throughout December. There will be one week off as I’ll be taking time off for Christmas. As a content writer and blogger, it’s really hard to balance writing for clients and writing for yourself. Obviously, my clients are my main priority but you can’t really be a blog writer and not have your own!
Start planning + prepping for 2021
During my two weeks off, I won’t just be sat doing nothing (well, some days anyway). I’m determined to start planning and scheduling more content in advance, rather than on the day. I’ve created myself a to-do list for my break (which I’ll share on the blog soon) but it’s going to be full of those little tasks that I just keep putting off. Some are blog-related, some business and some general life admin.
The main task is always setting up my planners for the new year. In 2021, I’m actually trying a bullet journal for the first time. I have zero drawing skills so it will be a fairly simple set-up. Now time to get on Pinterest and look for ideas!
Enjoy the Christmas break
With that being said, I want to just enjoy some time off before I go all gung-ho for 2021. There’s something so magical about starting a new year. It’s weird because I don’t do New Years celebrations, I’d much rather sleep through it. However, I always wake up on 1st January ready to go. I’m not going to lie, this break will include a lot of food and TV mostly! Fingers crossed Santa brings lots of sweets and chocolate this year!
Get one new client
Having recently lost a couple of clients, I’m determined to get my business back on track and increase my income. Blog writing is something I’m really passionate about so doing it for other freelancers and business doesn’t really feel like work to me! Head over to my business website if you want to know more!
Reach 100 books for the year
I’m at 96 for the year so far so four books in one month is definitely do-able. Hopefully I can get over 100 as my Christmas break will be full of spare time to read. I’ve been trying to read a mix of fiction and non-fiction but right now, I’m loving cheesy Christmas chick-lit! Now I just have to think about my goal for 2021!
