There were definitely some great times had in March, but it was one of the most challenging too, in terms of productivity. However, we’re heading into Q2 now, and I have lots of motivation and all-around good vibes ready for April. Let’s recap the month first with my March 2026 in review.
STARTING FROM THE BEGINNING WITH MY BUSINESS
I’ll admit that I’ve dropped the ball with my business over the last year or so, and I’ve not really tried to get new clients. Although I’ve been working with my existing clients, this month, I lost my one remaining retainer client. They’ve taken my role in-house due to budget cuts, and it’s now given me a bit of a kick up the backside. I’ve spent the end of March trying to finish my website (I’m 75% done) and planning out my Q2 content. I’m hoping to spend some time over Easter (Good Friday and Easter Monday) focused on completing my website too!
A FUN THEATRE MONTH
In March, I’ve seen three shows. I started off with Legally Blonde in Sheffield, which was incredible. I’m not sharing a review as I’m seeing it at multiple tour stops and hope to go to the Hull press night too. Next, I saw The Secret Garden at York Theatre Royal (review pending). It was one of my favourite books growing up, and the stage musical version was a triumph. To round out the month, I went to the Opera North press night of The Marriage of Figaro at Hull New Theatre. It was my second visit to the opera, and I loved it even more than the first!
ENJOYING 13 DAYS OFF FROM MY PART-TIME JOB
If you don’t know, I took up a part-time job at the Post Office back in October last year, and I had to squeeze in some holiday time. I had thirteen days off, with all the intentions of being super productive on my blog and business. Guess what? I barely did a thing, apart from watching a ton of TV and relaxing on the sofa. Oops!
A DAY OUT IN MANCHESTER
During my week off, I headed to Manchester for a day out with some rescheduled train tickets from January. I had zero plans for the day, other than shopping for pieces for my spring capsule wardrobe. However, I was pretty disappointed by what was on offer in the shops and barely bought anything! I ended up making some online purchases when I got home, and returned most of those, too! My day out was still a fun one, and I ended up using up my free Nando’s meal and a couple of free drinks in Costa as well.
UPDATING MY HAIRCARE ROUTINE
2026 is all about levelling up my beauty routines, but educating myself on ingredients and products first. I spent a lot of time last year researching skincare, so that routine is pretty solid. Even my aesthetician complimented my skin when I went for dermaplaning last week! However, my haircare has been a little lacklustre over the past year, so I wanted to amp it up. It’s difficult because I have a dry scalp and ends, but oily roots. I struggle with heavy products as my hair is long and fine, but I have quite a lot of it. I’ve been on a few Boots trips in the past month to get some new products (recycling five empties every time to get 500 points). Now I need to make a routine of which products to use on which days. Yes, I’m that kind of Type A, organised girlie.
A MONTH OF BEAUTY APPOINTMENTS
As I said above, my beauty routines are a priority in 2026, and that includes appointments. In March, I had my nails, dermaplaning and hair done. My gel nail appointments are every three weeks, and dermaplaning is every six weeks. I try to get my hair cut at the end of every quarter, and for £20, I get it washed and cut. Perfect for the ultimate lazy girl, aka me. I just go to my local village hair/beauty salon for all of my treatments, and the entire team does an amazing job every time!
PLANNING MY LIFE AROUND SPORTS
The return of F1, Arsenal men and women playing well, and the rollercoaster ride that is Hull FC mean March was a busy month sports-wise! Yes, I do plan a lot of my calendar around my sports teams because it’s a huge passion of mine and they’re all very important to me! April looks set to be a little quieter with a month off from F1, but there’s plenty of football and rugby league to watch.
RESTARTING MY FAVOURITE REALITY TV SHOW FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME
If you don’t know, I don’t really watch any reality TV. However, my top three are The Hills, Bake Off and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team. I’ve slowly been making my way through GBBO since January and have four and a half seasons left to watch. I also restarted DCC:MTT this month, and because of my work holiday, I’ve managed to watch eleven(!) seasons in a month! For some reason, I can’t find seasons 1 or 2 anywhere online, so I have to start with season 3. When I’ve finished season 16, I’ll head over to Netflix to watch the America’s Sweetheart docuseries.
And that’s a wrap on my March 2026 in review. My month always feels super busy until I write up my blog post, where it seems like I do very little! However, I love having a simpler life!
