My favourite time of year is all that time around Christmas and New Year when you don’t know what day it is. I’ve coined it Chrimbo Limbo in recent years because that’s how I always feel! Whilst I could sit and do nothing but eat and watch films, I like to keep busy. That’s probably the Capricorn in me. It’s also because I take a bit of time off in January to enjoy my birthday. Today’s blog post is all about my Christmas 2021 to-do list. It might seem like a lot but I’ve become the master of getting stuff done in a short amount of time.
Content planning for 2022
With this website, my business site and two more in the pipeline, I’ll be spending most of my time over Christmas plotting and prepping. I enjoy content planning because you just get to brainstorm all of your ideas and get them out of your head! The time consuming part is writing and scheduling all that content! In theory, I want to get as much of January’s content scheduled. Some posts I can’t write in advance, such as reviews, but everything else can be done now!
Plan out eBook
It’s a project I was working on sporadically in 2021 but I want to get it completed in 2022. Over Christmas, I’m going to get the eBook in a specific order so I can write it with a proper plan in mind. It sort of goes hand in hand with my new blog, The Realistic Minimalist, so if minimalism and decluttering is your cup of tea, keep your eyes peeled. And yes, that blog is very much a work in progress.
Create old graphics for business
I’m big on repurposing around my business content, which means creating lots of infographics and quotes from previous blog posts. They make for great filler content on Instagram so I’ve got a handful of blog posts to go through. Of course, I’ve got them in a spreadsheet so I can track my progress!
Set goals for 2022
Whilst I have had many thoughts about my 2022 goals, I still need to sit down, go through them and pick out the ones that I want to focus on. I’m planning on having a big year in 2022 so I’ll be super focused. I’ll be looking back at last year’s goals and seeing what happened with them as well as my monthly goals too.
Have a decluttering session
With Christmas gifts comes adding more items to your house. This is the perfect time to go through your home and get rid of the stuff you no longer love. I mostly go through my wardrobe, drawers and office for that tidy space, tidy mind feeling. If you are decluttering, please try to donate as much as possible and throw away as little as possible.
Digital declutter
Whilst I love decluttering my house, I always put off clearing out my digital items. Now is the perfect time to go through your harddrive (internal and external), internet favourites, emails and social media to delete, unsubscribe and unfollow things you don’t need. Trust me, it’s very therapeutic when you get to the finish line! Whilst you’re there, set up some form of system to keep on top of your organisation. It’ll save your time and sanity in 2022.
Set up Asana properly
I use Asana on a daily basis for my business but I know I can utilise it even more. I’ll be dedicating a full day to researching and setting up various things to help me keep organised in 2022. It’s the best project management tool I’ve used so far and it’s free – bonus!
Set up winter capsule wardrobe
I’m going to have a very minimalist year in 2022 as I try and save up for a house. This starts with my wardrobe. Buying less clothing and choosing more quality pieces means I enjoy my wardrobe more. After my declutter, I can store my out of season items away and just have this season’s essentials out.
And that’s my Christmas 2021 to-do list done. Now I actyally have to crack on with the tasks to start 2022 as organised as I possibly can! Do you like to have a to-do list for that Chrimbo Limbo time or do you do absolutely nothing? Leave a comment below or follow me on Twitter or Instagram for updates of how I’m getting on!
