If you’ve been following my blog or socials for a while, you might know that I haven’t been feeling my best self for quite some time. I don’t know if it was turning 30 (32 yesterday) or if I’m just having a moment. I’ve seen so many people online living their best lives and I want to also. That’s why I need to refocus and renew in every aspect of my life. Here’s to starting over at 32.
CAREER/BUSINESS
I’d say this is one of the main categories that I need to work on. Right now, my freelance business is in a bit of a blip so I either need to focus on getting new clients or work on getting a full-time job. I’m not fussed either way as whilst I love being self-employed, I’d really like the stability of a job. It would allow me to reach certain goals that I have in my life, especially this year. I’ve been trying to apply for jobs regularly but I’m not having much success.
For my freelance business, I need to work on getting more new clients via promoting my business online much more and engaging with businesses. In terms of getting a job, I need to revamp my CV, portfolio document and covering letter and personalise it to each job. I’m over-qualified for lots of roles I’ve applied for yet I’m not even getting to an initial interview stage. My freelance experience seems to be putting companies off so I’m very worried about that.

BLOG
If you read my 25 goals for 2025 post, you’ll have seen that I want to write 365 posts this year. That’s one per day so it’s a lot. We’re 15 days in and so far, so good. However, if I want to be successful with it, I need to start writing posts in advance, rather than just on the day.
In order to stay on track, I’ll be having a blog day every week (Wednesday or Friday) and using Sundays as my catch-up day if needed. I know I won’t be able to write up seven posts in one day but I at least want to make a go of it.

HEALTH
I’d say this is the hardest category for me because I desperately want to see progress but I have zero energy or motivation. I’d love to be a 5am girlie who’s off to the gym every day but that’s just not me. I know I need to move my body more and stick to a healthy diet but I’m struggling with it.
This is why I need to focus on my daily healthy habits (movement, balanced diet, water intake and supplements) and just take it day by day. Everything isn’t a failure if I eat some chocolate or skip a workout. However, I do need to snack less and find fun ways of working out. I’d say movement is my top priority here because I genuinely can’t remember the last time I worked out. Even a walk around the village would be enough some days!

FRIENDS
I’ll admit this is a very weak category for me. I spent years in one-sided friendships where it was always up to me to arrange hanging out so I dumped them. However, since the pandemic, I’ve realised I don’t really have many friends. There are a couple of people I used to work with who I chat to quite a lot but we rarely hang out in person.
At 32, it’s about time that I made my own friendships, ones where we have lots in common but also know we can’t make plans every week. I miss going to coffee shops or meals out with my girlfriends, chatting about life and then heading home before 9pm. It’s tricky without a car but I can definitely make plans on occasion.

FUN
I believe in the Wheel of Life this equates to leisure time. If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s my chill time. I watch a lot of TV, I blog frequently, I read quite a bit and I plan for fun. Sure, most of my hobbies include lots of screen time so this is the main improvement for this category.
Last year, I got myself a colouring book but found it really wasn’t for me. I might give it another try though because I need to reduce my screen time. I’d also like to get back into the habit of reading before bed as it definitely helps me sleep. Bullet journalling is something I started during the pandemic but I’d love to up my game with it. I’ve seen junk journalling all over TikTok and I think I’d like to add a couple of journals into my collections. A reading journal is one idea as well as an F1 journal. Maybe I’ll start a rugby league journal with the season starting very soon!

FINANCES
This is another sticky subject right now. As I said above, with my freelance business in a lull and minimal movement on the job front, finances are tight. I have such huge goals for my finances in 2025 and it means a massive overhaul. I make enough to get by but I really want to thrive in life. I’m not greedy but I want to be able to afford my own place, a car and to pay off my credit cards!
I’ll continue to track every penny that comes in and goes out of my bank accounts because I like to be informed. However, my main focus is on having a low-spend year and increasing my income. Whether that’s through getting more clients or a new job or working on some side hustles is up to me. However, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to move out!

Working on my goals should help in terms of starting over at 32. I’m not sure I fully feel like a proper grown-up just yet. Maybe I never will but I’d love to at least feel like I have my life together in some order.
