So it’s been over four months since I posted a Sunday Diaries post. So much for weekly updates! May has been a bit of an odd month so far following a jam-packed April but here’s a little look at the Sunday Diaries 013.
A SLOW WEEK
After a busy April, it’s been nice to slow down in May. However, it has felt a bit too slow. Work is slow which stresses me out. That’s meant I’ve spent a lot of time sitting around doing nothing. When I do nothing, I overthink. It could be that other businesses are struggling right now too so don’t have the need for freelancers. I’ve spent a bit of time looking for work to help boost my income. If you know of any freelance blog writing roles going anywhere, let me know!
LORD OF THE DANCE
On Tuesday night, I took my mum along to the press night of Lord of the Dance. It was the 25th anniversary tour so I had pretty high expectations. I’ll let you read the review if you want but in short, the dancing is spectacular but the production as a whole is not. If you love Irish dancing, you might be able to overlook the lack of a story but I personally needed more substance to it!
GOSSIP GIRL
Since it was quite work-wise, I’ve got through a lot of TV. I’m still binging on Law and Order: SVU and The Rookie and finished Grey’s Anatomy season 5. Because it’s such an emotional rollercoaster, I decided to watch Gossip Girl from the very beginning. It’s problematic for sure but it just feels so nostalgic! The music takes me right back to secondary school and it’s making me miss my headband collection.
EUROVISION
DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN? I’ve been a Eurovision watcher since I was a kid and honestly have enjoyed the results more than the performances sometimes. Normally, I’d say second place is the biggest loser but when you lose to Ukraine, how can you take it as a massive disappointment? Considering our history in Eurovision since the 00s, 2nd is basically a win! Sam Ryder’s performance was proof that when you get it all right (the song, the performer, the outfit, the staging), it can triumph. I’m still buzzing for him and running on only a few hours of sleep today!
GETTING BACK ON TRACK
After the events of the past couple of weeks, I’m doing a bit of a reset. I’ve been going through the motions lately and might even start a new 90-day challenge in a couple of weeks’ time. However, this time, I’ll be focusing on my mental health as well as my physical health too. Working on myself, in general, should help me to get some sort of balance into my life again and prioritise myself!
A short and sweet the Sunday Diaries 013 for the first week back. My life is definitely not as exciting as many so most of the time, it will feature what I’ve been watching and what I’ve been doing at home (mostly work)! If that doesn’t entice you enough, stay tuned for next Sunday’s instalment! Until then, follow me on Twitter and Instagram for a daily look at my life.
