I managed to get through 11 seasons of TV in May, which is impressive even for me. Usually, I watch a DVD box set every Sunday-Wednesday evening. However, I had so much to get through on Sky+ so I spent quite a few free days getting through them! Here’s a look at what I watched in May 2023.
Law and Order SVU s7-11
Yes, I did watch five seasons of SVU in one month! In fairness, I took a few days off and basically watched half a series per day. We also needed some spare space on the Sky+ box so I needed to get some of my shows watched and deleted! These are some of my favourite series because the team of Benson, Stabler, Munch, Fin, and Cragen are my favourite (until Rollins, Barba, and Carisi join the team). Benson definitely goes through the wringer in nearly every series yet is still hanging around. She’s one of the best female leads on TV.
Chicago Fire s10
I’m as caught up with Chicago Fire as I could be in the UK! Like I’ve said previously, the newer seasons aren’t as good as previous seasons but it’s always nice to see my favourite (often background) characters get more storylines. Cruz, Mouch, and Hermann are always there but rarely get their own stories. I just wish they’d get happier stories at times!
Smash S1-2
I thought it was about time to watch one of my favourite shows after seeing someone mention it on Twitter. It’s still my dream to see both Bombshell and Hit List made into actual stage musicals, especially in the UK. Maybe they could produce them as one-night-only concerts? I would go to those!
Vera s12
You all know I love a crime drama but it’s been a while since I’ve watched a British one. Broadchurch and Vera are my absolute favourites so I decided to get caught up with the latest series of Vera. Despite usually being about a murder, there are always some funny moments, usually from Vera herself!
Chicago PD s1-2
Now Chicago Fire is caught up with, rewatching Chicago PD is next. It was actually the first of the One Chicago shows I ever watched, due to Sophia Bush. The woman is a goddess. I really love the dynamics of this team. However, I mostly watch it for Jesse Lee Soffer. I’m not kidding when I say he’s my dream man. All I know is that I’m not looking forward to him leaving eventually. I do love the rest of the cast though: Burgess, Ruzek, and Atwater are such a funny trio at times!
And that’s what I watched in May 2023! I’m sure I could watch lots of new shows on Netflix or Disney+ but I just like what I like.
