Crikey, March already? This year is whizzing by and I feel like I’ve done pretty much nothing in 2022 so far. Anyone else thinking March feels like a massive reset again? I like to treat each month like a fresh start anyway! Here’s to my 10 goals for March 2022 but first, a look back at February.
Just a quick note to say that I’ve spent a lot of time over the past week or so thinking of those in Ukraine. I’ve been struggling to come to terms with it all myself, trying to do as much research about what’s going on as I can as well as donate to those charities and organisations that can help the most. It’s our duty to help those in need when we have enough so please help if you can.
FEBRUARY GOALS
February was a bit of a dud month for me. We’ve had some family emergencies that have been stressful to deal with and I’m currently waiting for multiple clients to pay their overdue invoices! They’re normally great at paying on time so I might just chalk it up to half-term if they get paid soon. Everything happening in Ukraine is also affecting me a great deal mentally.
Save £600
I only ended up saving just under £150, due to these unpaid invoices! How am I going to be able to buy a house if people don’t pay me on time?!
Have 20 no-spend days
Somehow, I managed 17 this month, probably because I’ve had nothing in my bank towards the end of the month. Again, pay your freelancers on time. That is all.
Finish first week of eBook
Definite no here. I got days 1 and 2 finished and about 100 words of day 3. I’ll try again this month.
Use Duolingo daily
Not missed a day yet! I even won the league last week for collecting the most points. I can’t believe how much I’m managing to retain either because I thought my brain had dried up to new information a long time ago.
Read 8 books
I managed three but I didn’t read many evenings before bed in February. March’s goal is to read every night before I fall to sleep!
Start 90 day plan/challenge
This plan is definitely going to be a game changer for me. I’ve started off slow and steady and lost a couple of pounds in one week! As long as I focus on eating better and moving a bit more, it will be a success!
Get my Asana as organised as it can be
This is still a work in progress but it’s happening. I’ve organised all of my blog post ideas for the time being and now just need to jot down notes on each one. That will make blogging so much easier!
Cook 4 new recipes
In all honesty, I don’t know if I achieved this but I’ve cooked more in February than ever before. I’m adding more vegetables to my dishes and eating smaller portions too. I definitely enjoy it too!
Daily journalling and habit tracking
I didn’t do these daily but I’ve tried the best I can. Some days have been a struggle just to get out of bed so
Set up content plans for blogs
Whilst I haven’t got the plans in place, I have collated all of my ideas into Asana so at least they’re together. Now I just need to put them into a plan of some sort!
FEBRUARY RECAP
9 – Number of TV series watched
2 – Number of theatre trips (Waitress and 9 to 5 – review coming soon)
3 – Number of blog posts written
2 – Number of empties
3 – Number of books read
1010 – Number of pages read
MARCH GOALS
As you can see, February had some highs and lows for me. Here’s hoping this month is a little better. Here are my 10 goals for March 2022.
No-spend month
I’ve budgeted for one day out of town, possibly two press nights at my local theatre and then a day working out of the house one to two days this month. Other than that, I pretty much have everything I need. I need to restrict myself to no clothes shopping, no Kindle books and no stationery!
Write 1000 words a day for fun
This can be my eBook or any of my blogs. I’ve got a writing tracker for the year set up so along with client work, I want to get back to writing for myself. It’s a struggle when you write all day for others but I used to use it as an escape. Here’s hoping I can get back to that.
Make blogging a priority!
Hopefully, the above goal will help with that too! I want to take it back to the old days when we all just blogged for fun on topics we enjoy. Right now, I’m focusing on consistent content across my websites and everything else can wait. Somebody keep me accountable, please!
Walk 5000 steps a day
I know 10k is more appropriate but for someone who works from home and barely leaves the house, this will be an accomplishment in itself! Better to start off small and achievable, right?
Continue with my 90 day plan
So far, it’s going well a week into my 90 day plan. I’ve lost weight, worked out a couple of times and found more balance in my diet. I’m looking to up my workouts this month, eat more fulfilling meals and hopefully I’ll feel more energised!
Hit my income goal
I’ve set myself a target for the month as I hope to bring in more work than ever before. I’m determined to use my time more efficiently so fingers crossed I can get far more done! I’ve got big plans throughout 2022 and beyond so I need to be able to afford them!
Set up spring capsule wardrobe
It’s that time again! I’ll be going through my wardrobe one weekend and selecting pieces for my spring capsule. It’s been a while since I set up a proper capsule but I’ll be sharing my journey on my new blog, The Realistic Minimalist, later in the month. (Yes, it’s a work in progress this website.)
Upload to eBay
I have all the clothes I want to get rid of listed on Vinted. However, I find it hard to sell unless you’ve just uploaded them. If I get everything listed on eBay too, hopefully they’ll sell instead.
Get ready for April London trip
After rearranging my January trip, it will finally be here in April. I’m planning on it being a full stagey trip as I’m going Thursday-Monday, meaning I can fit in 8 shows in theory. I’ve got three booked in already (& Juliet, Come From Away and Bonnie & Clyde) but will be getting on-the-day tickets when I’m there for other shows. Thank god for TodayTix!
Organise travel plans for the rest of the year
I’ve been saying for ages that I want to explore more of the UK. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive to get the train around! With more income, I’ll be able to get a few more plans booked in and organised. Let me know if there’s somewhere I should explore near you!
So happy March and let’s all start a fresh this month, taking each day as it comes. I’m definitely feeling grateful for what I have right now and again, my heart goes out to all those involved in Ukraine. It’s made me so angry every single day and will be continuing to find ways to help from the UK, including holding our government to account for their lack of assistance right now.
