After September’s indifferent month, October was a bit more positive! I was looking forward to focusing on work and blogging, which I definitely did towards the end of the month. I’m not really a Halloween person but I love any occasion for a themed food item. Let’s take a look at my October 2023 in review.
THE WSL RETURNS
If there’s one thing I love, it’s Arsenal and women’s football. However, this season is already trying for me, with Arsenal only having seven points from a possible twelve and sitting in 7th. However, my favourite player, Vivianne Miedema, has finally returned from her ACL injury, along with Beth Mead. Hopefully, that means we can start scoring more goals and getting more wins!
A MONTH OF THEATRE
So far, I’ve managed to see three shows in October. Jesus Christ Superstar was an incredible experience. It’s one of those shows that you don’t have to know in depth to enjoy, purely because the performances are out of this world. Then, my dad and I went to see Bootleg Beatles, which is always a great night out. I just wish we sat near more energetic audience members because they were boring af (you’re encouraged to sing along!). Next up was the Annie press night. Again, it’s a show that I’ve not seen in years but it’s always a feel-good show. The cast, both kids and adults, were phenomenal and my mum and I had a lovely night out. I’ve got another press night tomorrow to see Greatest Days too.
NEW CLIENTS!
After all the struggles in 2023, I finally have some new clients! The first one is working alongside a fellow freelancer, who has branched out into an agency model. I’ll be helping her with her client’s content and I’m excited for a bit of variety. The second one is another agency but on a larger scale. From what I can tell, I’ll gradually increase my workload over the next few months, creating content.
A ROUGH PATCH PERSONALLY
So because I’ve been struggling in a few areas of my life, I’ve just had a bit of a rough patch. I’ve spent a lot of time procrastinating, being lazy, and spent quite a bit of time during the day in my pyjamas. However, now I’m feeling much more productive and optimistic about the future!
EMBRACING AUTUMN
We’re getting into my favourite seasons, autumn and winter, so I’ve definitely embraced that. I switched over to my autumn capsule wardrobe, created my autumnal bucket list, and revamped my morning routine to make it more cosy.
1989 TAYLOR’S VERSION RELEASE
Now 1989 has never been my favourite Swift album but I am loving these re-releases. 1989 doesn’t sound too much different from the original but her vocals are so much stronger now! I think the vault tracks will have to grow on me but I’ve given it a few listens so far. I’m praying that Debut is next because I’m not that fussed about Reputation!
STICKING WITH MY SUNDAY RESETS
One thing that I’m really proud of is using my weekends to be productive. That means sticking with my Sunday resets, creating my new money routine, and carving out some personal time on a Sunday evening. Once I get into a rhythm with my new client work, I’d like to not do any work on weekends!
RESTARTING THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
Whilst I am in the middle of my Gilmore Girls rewatch, I wanted something spooky towards Halloween. That’s why I started The Vampire Diaries again. I’ve still never got past season five so hopefully, I can finish it completely this time. I’m hoping to switch between both shows until Christmas!
And that’s a wrap on my October 2023 in review. I’m really excited to see what the last two months of 2023 bring as I get to focus more on my work, blogs and health.
