How are we already at the third month of the year? You know you’re getting old when time is just flying by! Let’s recap February first before looking at my 10 goals for March 2025.
FEBRUARY GOALS RECAP
Set up theatre scrapbook + junk journal
Fail. I’ve had so little free time and when I have, all I want to do is sleep or watch TV. The idea was to create it as a cosy hobby so now I need to actually carve out some time for said hobby.
Read 6 books
Another fail. I managed to get through three books but I didn’t read on nearly half of the days in February. However, I did get to the library towards the end of the month so I’ve got seven new books to read.
Watch 6 musical films
Oh look, another fail. I don’t think I even got through one in February. I’ve been trying to get through Gossip Girl instead.
Complete first 4 weeks of 75 Soft
Fail. I stuck to some healthy habits but not all of them and certainly not every day.
Make a friend date
Another fail. I’m just lazy when it comes to making new friends and I wish I could be a little more proactive about it.
20 no-spend days
Fail-ish. I managed to get to 17 no-spend days, which is definitely better than nothing! However, it was quite a high-spend month, where I spent nearly double what I did in January.
Upload clothing to Vinted
Another fail. I think I might just donate them because I really don’t have the time to take the photos, write the listings and send each parcel with a different company.
Get into a weekly routine with freelance work
Sort of. I’ve definitely got into a routine working three days for one publication. However, my brain has never been so fried so on my days off, I barely got anything else done. In fact, I stayed in bed or just sat on the sofa watching TV for the most part.
Reorganise external harddrive
DONE. Finally, I’ve achieved something. I mean, it’s not perfect by any stretchy but I sorted through my invoices most importantly and then reorganised some of my photos.
Post 28 blog posts in 28 days
Fail. I only managed six blog posts in February. I should’ve known that a blog post a day across the year was too big of an ask for someone as lazy as me.
FEBRUARY STATS
10 – TV shows watched (SVU s11-14, Gossip Girl s4+5, Law and Order s19+20, Boyzone: No Matter What, Jack the Ripper: The Case Reopened)

4 – Empties
3 – Books read (Driven to Temptation – Melia Alexander, When in Rome – Sarah Adams, Icebreaker – Hannah Grace)
849 – Pages read
1 – Theatre shows seen (Varna International Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet)
144,169 – Total steps
5149 – Average steps for the month
MARCH PLANS
I’m so glad that March is looking a bit quieter because I need to get back into a routine with freelancing, healthy habits and organisation. I’m hoping it leads to a low-spend month too!
- 5th – The Book of Mormon press night
- 10th – Nails appointment
- 12th – Day trip to Bradford to see Hamilton the musical
- 27th – Opera North’s The Magic Flute press night
- 29th – McNicol Collective’s Here and Now press night
MARCH GOALS
Now that February is done and dusted, it’s time to get on with my 10 goals for March 2025.
Read 8 books
This seems like a lofty goal considering I only read 3 books in February. However, with my reading spark back and a plan to read every night before bed, I think I can get through more books. I’d love to take a proper dinner hour to read for a while but I end up watching an episode of SVU instead.
Go on a solo cinema date
I’ve not been to the cinema since I saw Wicked in November. I’d originally planned on getting an Odeon Limitless subscription again but I always go through phases with going. Instead, I’ll just choose one film to see every so often because my local Vue is only £4.99 per film!
Retidy spare room/office
This is a job that I did over Christmas and already, it’s a mess again. I have too many books and stationery items that it’s just cluttered on every shelf and all over the floor. I’ve also got piles of old notebooks that I need to go through as well as piles of stationery that I don’t really want or need.
Get back to tracking on habits app
This is what I tried to do in February but was a bit sporadic with using it. Instead, March will be the month that I refocus on several aspects of my life, especially my health, fitness and wellbeing. For me, I need to work on moving my body more, drinking two litres of water a day and taking my daily vitamins.
Reset AM + PM routine
I’ve always been big on routine but since the new year, I’ve definitely fallen off the ladder when it comes to routine. With that being said, the main focus will be on my morning and evening routines to begin with. I plan to have a slightly different routine depending on my schedule though so every day might look a little different.
Set up a workday routine
As I said above, I need to get back into a routine. The other main routine I want to focus on is with my work. I work three days a week for one publication and it often involves doing a night shift. That means I have the daytime or at least the morning free. Instead of lounging around every time, I want to use that time to work or blog.
Have a low-spend month
Because I spent so much money in February, I need to rein that in during March. As you saw in my March plans section, I do have some events but I can definitely do a day out of town on the cheap as long as I buy zero clothes, beauty products or stationery! I’ve got my travel planned and booked until the end of May so I don’t have a lot of expenses planned.
Have 20 no-spend days
Because of the above, I want to push myself with 20 no-spend days, which should be doable. I always try to plan my NSDs around my plans but also give myself a little breathing space too.
Post twice to my business blog
I said that 2025 would be the year I reboot my business’ marketing and alas, we’re two months in and I’ve done very little so far. In March, I plan to write two blogs for my business blog, which doesn’t seem like a lot but those posts also need planning.
Dedicate 1 day a week for blog writing
Whilst I plan to use my evenings to blog when I can, I also want to get back into dedicating one day a week to write multiple posts. I can usually write at least three posts in one day but in theory, I could definitely write more. That would give me a few evenings off a week too.
And that’s everything for my 10 goals for March 2025. I plan to have a quieter month with a handful of theatre trips and one day out of town. With that being said, it will give me more time to focus on freelancing and healthy habits.
