After 746 days of January, we’re finally out of it. This February feels like the official New Year for me and I’m excited for a good month ahead. Here are my 10 goals for February 2025.
JANUARY GOALS RECAP
Read 8 books
Fail. I only managed to read 3 books in January, which isn’t great but better than nothing. It’s a habit that I need to get back into properly, especially before bed.
Start month 1 of 75 Soft
Sort of. I decided to have a practice run in the last week of January before officially starting today! The hardest part is the movement aspect. I want to push myself to workout or walk most days but it’s definitely a struggle for me!
Try a new recipe
Another fail. I’ve definitely cooked a lot more than I often do but it’s a healthy habit that I’ve worked on. However, I’ve cooked my usual stir fry or chicken/sweet potato recipes. It’s just easy to cook recipes that I already know how to cook.
Stick to January monthly budget + rules
DONE! I’m really pleased with my January budget and I spent much less than planned. Maybe it’s because I rearranged some plans and only left the house a few times! The only categories where I overspent were books and Amazon. That’s because I set myself a budget of £0 but I only spent £11 total in both categories.
Pay tax bill
DONE-ISH. So I struggled to get the full amount to pay my tax bill. Instead, I’ve managed to set up a direct debit for the next 3 months to spread the cost out. In the future, I’m going to save 20% of every invoice into a tax savings pot and possibly even pay it as a direct debit from April to reduce the monthly costs even more.
Save 20% of every invoice
Fail. As I said above, it’s something I’m going to work on for the next tax year. Putting that money aside gradually instead of having to find it last-minute in one lump sum is a much better plan!
Research coworking spaces
DONE-ISH. I’ve found a handful in Hull that I’d like to take a closer look at to see if any of them would work for me. They’re a range of prices too so I’d love to compare what you get in the cheapest to the most expensive and see if it’s worth it.
Set up + stick to business content schedule
Fail. I posted twice to Instagram and once to my blog. I started the month off slowly and never picked up the pace. It’s something you need to plan and schedule in advance or else you never post anything!
Post 31 blog posts
Fail. I’ve posted 22 blog posts in January, short of my goal. However, it’s a significant improvement and more than halfway to my goal. I was super consistent until mid-month, took a day or two off and couldn’t get back on track.
Have a dedicated blog day every week
Fail. I got into the habit of writing and posting every single night. That’s really not very sustainable so I’m going to use my days off freelancing to write in February. One day a week isn’t enough but it’s better than nothing!

- 20th – Nails appointment
- 20th – Varna Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet press night
- 23rd-25th – Manchester trip
- 24th – Carly Pearce concert
- Dermaplaning appointment (at some point)
FEBRUARY GOALS
Set up theatre scrapbook + junk journal
Most of my spare time (and work time) is spent in front of screens. If I’m not working, I’m blogging and I’m usually watching TV in my spare time too. I’d love to start a hobby that doesn’t rely on screens. Scrapbooking and junk journalling sounds right up my street. I like bullet journalling but I’m not the most creative. However, I’m sure I can stick things on a page and make them look pretty.
Read 6 books
After only reading three in January, I want to up my game in February. I need to start getting through my physical TBR because I’ve got a tonne of unread books on there. However, it’s just so much easier to read on my Kindle!
Watch 6 musical films
Having only got through two in January, to get back on track, I need to watch five this month. My aim for the year is 52 so that’s one a week. Again, I’ve got shelves filled with musical DVDs so it’s time to watch them all!
Complete first 4 weeks of 75 Soft
As you saw earlier, I had a practice week of 75 Soft at the end of January so we’re starting officially on the 3rd. Focusing on building healthy habits daily means progress every single day, even if it doesn’t feel like it!
Make a friend date
This might sound silly but I can’t remember the last time I made plans with a friend. I do most stuff solo and I love it but it would be great to hang out with someone. Even if it’s just to a coffee shop for an hour, I need some human interaction.
20 no-spend days
It seems like a lot to the average person but working from home does wonders to help me save money. I try to plan out my spending days, especially if I’m out of the house. I averaged between 15-23 no-spend days every month in 2024 so want to keep that up.
Upload clothing to Vinted
I’ve got a basket of clothes that I no longer want but I’d love to make some money from them. Putting them on Vinted won’t make me a tonne of money but it might get me a little bit. I hope to gradually upload more as I figure out which clothing I don’t like anymore.
Get into a weekly routine with freelance work
So I’ve got a new job! It’s three days a week freelancing for a rugby league website. That means that I’ll be working my other client work and blogging around that. With the new role, I’ll be selecting my days every month so I can plan a month at a time. I’m all about routine in February.
Reorganise external harddrive
I used to be super organised with my computer and harddrives but in the last year or so, I’ve not been. I move documents, downloads and pictures onto my external harddrive but don’t put them into handy folders anymore. That’s why I need to use February to get my shit together and reorganise them all.
Post 28 blog posts in 28 days
If you read my annual goals, I want to post 365 blog posts in 365 days. After managing 22 in January, I want to try to stick to daily posting. This is across three blogs so it’s pretty varied content.
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for February 2025 post. I’m excited for the month ahead because of my new freelance role and my trip to Manchester.
