Woah, we’re halfway there… I hate to be that person again but how are we now over halfway through the year? 2023 has simultaneously gone quickly and slowly but I’m determined to make the second half a bit more focused. Here’s to my 10 goals for July 2023.
JUNE GOALS
Before we get stuck into my 10 goals for July 2023, let’s reflect on my June goals first.
Follow Tone It Up workout plan
Fail. I didn’t do a single workout in June. Oops. We’ll try again in July.
Low-spend month
It wasn’t my lowest-spending month of the year but it wasn’t the highest either. If I hadn’t had to find a private dentist and saved that £98, it would’ve been my lowest spend of 2023. However, I met my budget in most categories so I’m pretty pleased.
Work out of the house once a fortnight
Another fail. I was trying to save money in all areas of my life, which meant working from home every day. I do find myself being pretty productive when working from a coffee shop but only if I visit first thing in the morning!
Stick to content plans
I’d say it worked pretty well for my business Instagram, posting three times a week. However, my blogs didn’t go quite to plan. We’ll try again next month.
Continue with 75 Sustainable
I did continue with this. However, I’ve revamped it into the 12-week year challenge instead!
Start updating my biz website
Fail. I procrastinated too much and just didn’t feel in the right brain-space to redo my website.
Brainstorm digital products
Sort of. I’ve got a list in my head of ideas but I’ve not solidified it on paper/digital. It’ll also be a big commitment to start selling printables!
Find new dinnertime recipes
Technically, I didn’t complete this but I did start making paninis in the sandwich maker. I experimented with flavours and fillings and now have a few new favourites. It’s great for leftover chicken too!
Take more photos
I’m just not a photo girly. I don’t possess any photography skills and it’s yet another skill I just don’t have the time to learn.
Plan travel for the rest of 2023
Again, I’ve sort of planned this out vaguely but nothing is booked or set in stone. I’ll probably be travelling less to London because it’s so pricey and taking more day trips to other places in Yorkshire/Manchester.

JULY GOALS
Now that June is done and dusted, let’s take a closer look at my 10 goals for July 2023.
Get Eras tour tickets
Quite frankly, I care about nothing else this month. I’ve got my Monzo savings point ticking over, I’m trying to get as much work done as I can so I can afford those tickets. I’ll probably buy as many tickets as I can afford and sell them to people I know!
Hit my income goal
I need to step up my work rate in July. Mostly so I can afford Eras tour tickets and my hefty private dentistry bill. I’m so sick of having to budget so tightly that I’d just like to not have so many money worries. I’ve also reduced my freelance prices for July so you can check them out on my Instagram account from Monday.
20 no-spend days
I’ve decided against my London trip because it’s just so pricey right now. However, with the Eras tour (hopefully), the dentist, and at least three theatre (press night) trips in July, it might be fairly spendy. Instead of aiming for a low-spend month, I’d like to reach 20 no-spend days. I’ve planned out my spending days so any unplanned spending will have to happen on those days too!
Ramp up 12-week year challenge
As I said earlier, I’m starting my third week of the 12-week year tomorrow. So far, I’ve been easing my way into it but now I need to up my game, especially in the health department. My diet is cleaner than ever before (I still like treats) but now, I need to get on the exercise train. I’ve made a workout plan so here’s to sticking to it!
Make one digital product
I’ve not decided what said digital product will be but I’m hoping to get started with some printables. It’ll probably be something to do with organisation and I think I’ll set up on Etsy, to begin with. If you have any recommendations for hosts or if it’s possible to do it on WordPress, please help a girl out!
Track time and word count daily
One thing I need to improve in July is my time management. That means tracking how much I write every day plus how long it takes me to write it. I’ll only be tracking my time with client work but my word count on all client work, blogs, and social media stuff. I have my Google Sheets spreadsheet ready!
Read 8 books
2 books a week seems like a lot but I usually read more during the summer. I’ve been reading so many self-development books lately that I want to get reading some fiction again. I do have another Kindle Unlimited trial until the end of the month so I’ll be reading most from there.
Do a big toiletries/beauty shop
This seems like a random goal but I’m running out of quite a few bits. However, I want to do my shop a little differently than usual. Usually, I’d just head into town and pick up random bits. This time, I’m going to write a list before making a Superdrug and Boots order. If I have to grab a couple of items in person, so be it. But I’ll be doing most of it online!
Make a running list of blog content ideas
One thing I need to start doing again is making a running list of ideas for all of my websites. I want to be able to set up my monthly plans by scheduling my usual posts and then just grabbing some titles from my existing list of ideas. Having a content bank should mean that I can post more consistently too.
Get through TV on Sky+ box
So this sounds like a ridiculous goal but I love recording stuff to watch at a later date. However, we’ve got about 10% left on the Sky+ box because I have lots of series collated on there. In July, I want to get through as much as possible (mostly SVU, 9-1-1 Lone Star, and the latest series of Chicago PD). So many shows aren’t streamed online in the UK and I don’t watch Netflix/Prime much. I also cancelled Disney+ because again, I wasn’t really using it!
BONUS: Watch as many World Cup games as I can!
The women’s football World Cup starts on 20th July so my mornings will be dedicated to watching as many games as possible. I’m not kidding when I say I’ll be moving around appointments and calls so I can watch the games!
And that’s my 10 goals for July 2023 set. I’m excited to get going with them because I definitely feel more motivated to make July a success (mostly because I need Eras tour tickets). Please hold me accountable by following me on Twitter and Instagram, where I hope to share my progress too.
