How are we already at April already? However, does anyone else feel like it’s a bit of a fresh start? Usually, January and September feel like reset months but spring has sprung and everything feels a little lighter. Here’s my March recap and my 10 goals for April 2025.
MARCH GOALS RECAP
Read 8 books
I only managed to get 25% of the way to this goal and read 2 books in March. I’ve finally got through Hannah Grace’s Maple Hills series. I enjoyed it but the first one was the best, followed by the third and then the second. It’s unusual for me to like all the lead characters but I loved all six as well as the supporting characters too.
Go on a solo cinema date
For some reason, I thought there would be something I’d fancy seeing but nothing caught my eye. Because I don’t have Odeon Limitless anymore, I just pick and choose what I want to see. However, unless I’m desperate to see something, I won’t pay the money. I also wish there were more screenings during the day!
Retidy spare room/office
Another fail. I’d say I’ve done a bit of tidying but not enough to make it tidy, if that makes sense. It’s a room that needs a serious declutter but I also use a lot of the items that I have in there. Either that or they’re spares, which I refuse to get rid of.
Get back to tracking on habit app
DONE. I was very good at tracking during the first two weeks of March, slacked off in week three and got back into it in the last week. That’s because I started 75 Soft on 24th March so was all in on tracking! I even had a perfect day on day 1. Unfortunately, I haven’t since but I’ve done at least half of my healthy habits every day.
Reset AM + PM routine
My morning routine is the laziest routine in the world and my evening routine isn’t ideal either. I’d say I haven’t formed any sort of routine in March, just got up straight away or went straight to bed!
Set up a workday routine
I have a great routine in my part-time role for three days but everything around it is murky. I’ve got myself into a routine of working when I have the energy too, which isn’t sustainable. It’s something I need to work on but it’s hard when you feel burned out!
Have a low-spend month
March was a very high-spend month for a few reasons. 1) I booked a hotel and tickets for next year’s C2C festival for around £670. 2) I bought a tonne of theatre tickets to book out the rest of the year for £170. 3) I spent £120 on health and beauty, including nail appointments and multiple Boots and Superdrug hauls. However, I did put over £500 into my savings so swings and roundabouts!
Have 20 no-spend days
I only managed 16 no-spend days, which is good but not great. For some reason, I’m good at starting and ending the month well. It’s just the two weeks in between! We’ll try again in April because I need a low-spend month!
Post twice to my business blog
Whilst I haven’t got this done just yet, I have planned out my content plan for Q2. Again, it’s all about progress as I attempt to get myself back into marketing my business.
Dedicate 1 day a week for blog writing
DONE-ISH. I’ve tried to use my spare Sundays as blog-writing days. When I’ve managed this, I’ve written three blog posts. Other times, I’ve just spent an hour or two in the evening writing instead.

APRIL PLANS
April looks quieter than Q1, which is better for my bank balance. I still have some plans in my calendar, which I try to have every month.
- 2nd – Nails appointment and haircut
- 6th – Six the Musical at the cinema
- 19th – Day trip to Leeds to see The Flood
- 22nd – Nails appointment
- 22nd – Dear Evan Hansen press night
- 24th – Day trip to Sheffield to see Northern Ballet’s Jane Eyre
- 29th – Ghost the Musical press night
10 GOALS FOR APRIL 2025
Read 4 books
One a week seems manageable if I can get back into a routine. I’m partway through two books so if I can get through those, I’ll be halfway there. I’d love to carve out more time for reading but unfortunately, I have responsibilities more important right now.
Finish Drive to Survive
I have 13 episodes to watch to catch up, the last three episodes of season six and the whole of season seven. F1 is one of my favourite sports and while I enjoy the show, I prefer to watch the live racing. It’s nice to get to know some of the drivers a little better but a lot of it is fabricated.
Get back into a routine with laundry
This seems like a very random goal but it’s a must. My washing keeps piling up and then I get stressed when I have to spend an entire day doing laundry. Because the weather is improving, I might be able to hang some of it outside finally! Usually, I aim for one day midweek and one weekend day to do a couple of loads per day. It also gives enough time between them to get stuff dried fully.
Set up my spring capsule wardrobe
Spring isn’t always my favourite season but I’m excited not to be wrapped up in coats and scarves. I’ve added way too many items, with a couple of hauls yet to be delivered, as I wanted to bring some colour into my wardrobe. I’m excited for short sleeves and not freezing my arse off when sitting at my desk.
Continue with 75 Soft
Currently, I’m on week two and it’s definitely a challenge. I’m okay with most of my daily habits, it’s purely the movement that’s the hardest for me. I’ve just gotten super lazy since Covid. I don’t particularly enjoy walking around this village and the last thing I want to do after my work day is workout. It’s something I need to get better at planning for sure.
Have a low-spend month
It’s a necessity that April is a low-spend month for me. Q1 was pretty spendy and it’s time to rein that all in. Of course, I’ll spend something because I’m going on a couple of day trips. However, I want to spend much less when I’m at home. I’ve picked out clothing and toiletries as my no-spend categories after today.
Focus on CBS content
This is carried over from March because I’m determined to make this a real focus of mine. Ideally, it means posting three times a week to socials and once a week to my business blog. If I want to get more work and start earning a consistent income again, I need to get back to my OG marketing days.
File taxes (+ save up for the bill)
Oh hooray, it’s tax season again. I’ve always been good at keeping my accounts organised and filing my taxes straight away. However, I usually don’t pay until January and find myself scrambling for the funds. This year, I want to put money aside monthly to save for my tax bill instead.
Get one new client
If I structure my time properly, I have the capacity to take on at least one more client. With my extra marketing and putting myself out there, it’s possible to get more work. However, it’s such a competitive market out there right now. If you’re reading this and looking for a blog writer, hit me up on Instagram. I do have a business website but I’m in the process of updating it right now.
Keep up with blog content plan + post 5 times a week
Just like with my business content plan, I’ve got my blog posts planned for April and some further in advance. However, I can only post five times a week across my three blogs if I stay organised and write in bulk. Again, I’ll be aiming to dedicate one day a week to writing.
And that’s a wrap on my 10 goals for April 2025. I’m excited to hit the reset button in Q2 and see where the next month (and three months) take me. With fewer theatre plans than usual, I can spend more time writing, planning and marketing myself.
