March was not exactly the month that I was hoping for but spring has sprung and that’s improved my mood vastly! With that being said, let’s recap my March goals first before looking at my 10 goals for April 2024.
MARCH GOALS RECAP
Plan for Q2
DONE. I’m feeling quite motivated for Q2 with client work/job hunt, blogs and my health + fitness. Spring feels like a bit of a restart of 2024 so I’ve got new goals, new plans and new motivation. Let’s smash Q2!
Spend the Easter weekend decluttering
DONE. I’ve finally decluttered the spare room/my home office! It’s not as tidy as I’d like because I still live at home and all my parents’ excess stuff is in here too. However, for my part, I’ve slowly got rid of some stuff and taken it to a charity shop. Hooray!
Try 2 new eateries
Fail. I tried one (Fernando’s in Hull) and was very impressed as there’s not a lot of choice in Hull for a weekday pre-theatre meal when you only have about an hour!
Read 5 books
Fail. So annoying, but I’ve only managed four and a half books in March! I’ve joined the local library though and they had quite a selection of books.
Make the most of Disney+
Fail. I’ve watched the Eras Tour movie once and nothing else. Here’s to April!
Start 75 Soft challenge
Sort of I’ve eased my way into it by doing a trial fortnight. Other than working out, it has gone pretty well. I’ve eaten better, drank a lot of water and looked after myself pretty well. Here’s to improving on that in April.
Aim for 20 no-spend days
Fail. I was so close but only got to 18 no-spend days in March. Even though I didn’t get out of the house as much, I did treat myself to a new desk and accessories!
Focus on a proper work + blog routine
Fail. I’ve definitely not done this in any way, shape or form. In fact, I’ve done the opposite and just done stuff pretty ad-hoc. Usually, I thrive on routine but maybe it’s because I’m feeling demotivated with work and blogging.
Track daily word count
DONE. I’m very happy that I’ve managed to track this but I haven’t been as productive as I’d have liked. I think it’s something I’ll continue doing into April and hopefully, writing most days I can.
Find my groove with short-form content
Another sort of. Instagram and TikTok are a struggle for me because I have zero video skills at all. Instead, I’ve been using short clips or carousel-type posts. We’ll try again in Q2.

10 GOALS FOR APRIL 2024
Get a job
Or a new client, if it happens. I’ve applied for a lot of jobs, a mixture of full-time, part-time and freelance, so it depends if anything comes through. I’m putting it out there that I will get a job or a new client in April, that’s my manifestation
Get to the cinema three times
Since I’m still freelance and have some spare time, I might as well make the most of my unlimited Odeon pass! There’s not a great deal out right now that I’m desperate to see but I think there is later in the month.
Stick to April budget
It’ll be quite a high-spend month, with a rescheduled opticians’ appointment and planning out theatre/travel for April onwards. However, I’ve set my budget in each category and overall so hopefully, I can stick to it! This also includes no Kindle book buying, other than a couple of paperbacks. That’s because I have a physical bookshelf filled with lots of unread books, a Kindle full of unread books and a new library card if I fancy something new.
Stick to posting four blog posts a week
I’ve decided to reduce my posting schedule so I can hopefully stick to it. That means two posts on this blog every week as well as one to TRM and SWS. Those two blogs do need a bit of TLC with their website design but that can wait for a rainy day.
Post on TikTok twice a week
I’m in my TikTok era right now and just want to experiment with content. I posted a book haul the other day and that seemed to go down well. I’ve got a couple more of those filmed so will be using them in the coming weeks. Ideally, I’ll post more day-in-the-life content but I also have to remember to take photos throughout my day!
Read 6 books
I’ve been loving reading again lately so a book and a half a week should be manageable. I’m back into reading chick lit so whilst it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s my favourite genre once again!
Workout three times a week
So I’m starting 75 Soft properly in April but I don’t think it’s sustainable to say I’ll workout daily when currently, I do zero exercise. Three days a week seems like a good starting point (probably Mon-Wed-Fri) and trying a range of workouts too. I’ve got a load of YouTube videos to join along with.
Complete desk makeover
Because of my new desk, I thought it was the perfect time to do a little sprucing of my home office. I’ve finally decluttered a fair bit and now have space to make it pretty but also functional. I still own a lot of stationery because I love it and collect it. I also have a fear of running out of something so I always have spare supplies. I’m hoping to add a new monitor stand, a laptop stand and new pen storage. They’re not huge changes but I think they’ll make a big difference to me.
Stand at my new desk for one hour every weekday
As I said above, my new desk is actually a standing desk (well, you can sit or stand) so I want to make use of that! I’m aiming for about an hour a day but eventually, I want to spend half my day stood up. My posture is horrendous and I have lots of back issues so standing will improve both hopefully!
Listen to TS11 on repeat
As you all know, I’m a huge Swiftie so I’m super excited for her new album! I’ve no idea what sort of sound it’s going to be but judging by the name, I’m assuming it’s going to be very strong lyrically. Does anyone know if it will be incorporated into the Eras Tour now or even the acoustic/secret songs set?
That’s everything for my 10 goals for April 2024. I’m looking forward to hitting the rest button (again) and I’m feeling optimistic going into a new season. Hopefully, it’s a season of change for me because I need it to be!
